Take Your Hygiene To The Next Level

We were all taught from an early age, the importance of good hygiene. Whether its brushing our teeth, or scrubbing under out nails.

Proper personal hygiene means taking care of every aspect of your body, from keeping it clean to looking your best. Basic hygiene is taught to children at an early age to help establish good habits and parents can reinforce good hygienic behaviour by creating routines and being good role models! Your personal, social and professional worlds are all affected by hygiene habits – but it’s easy to fall into the same old hygiene habits. Here we’ll look at a few ideas to help revitalise your daily routine. 

The shower

Of course, it sounds obvious, but a shower whether it’s first thing in the morning or late at night before you go to bed is a wonderful way to invigorate the body, and who doesn’t feel good standing underneath a cascade of hot water?

But over time, a shower just might not have the same effect on you that it used to. If this is the case, then why not invest in a new shower head or unit? Better bathrooms who sell tons of different showers are full of inspiration and ideas to really make your next shower a little more revitalising.

Brushing your teeth

Everyone has their own way of getting this task done. We always start on the same side of the mouth and work our way around. This can get pretty boring, and over time we stop seeing the benefits!

Why not upgrade to an electric toothbrush? Or find a new toothpaste that will wake up your mouth and oral health. Ensuring your teeth receive a good, thorough clean every day will make you feel good too!

Shake up your washing habits!

Did you know that you don’t have to shower every day? our mileage may vary on this, but most people don’t need to shower every day. In fact, showering every day strips away the necessary oils in your skin and hair, which makes your body produce more to compensate. You can probably get away with showering once every other day. If you can’t swing that, skip the shampoo every other shower. If your hair gets greasy spots, try sprinkling some baby powder around the roots between shampoo days.

Actually wash your feet. Guess what? Did you know that simply soaking your feet in half an inch of soapy runoff while standing in the shower doesn't count as washing your feet. Get in there with a wash cloth and scrub your toes and the bottom of your feet. This will help you kick embarrassing foot fungus and other odorous or unsightly issues.

Wash your face with honey. If you have extremely sensitive skin, or are just looking for a cheap organic face wash, try this: Wash your face with honey. Honey is a natural humectant (e.g. moisturizes without leaving oily residue) and exfoliant. It even has natural antibacterial qualities!
