5 Fun Activities All Moms Should Try

Mothers have got to be some of the busiest people on earth.  The list of things to do seems to be endless. Feeding the kids, doing the laundry, planning and cooking the meals are just some of the things that mothers do every single day.

It’s no wonder that aside from being the busiest, mothers are also one of the most exhausted people on earth. It’s only right that they get time for themselves. This me-time is the perfect way to recharge and renew themselves in order to be ready to for another day as a mother.

Most mothers like to go to the spa or salon for their alone time. But if you want to try other activities, check out some of the activities below that you and your mom friends can try the next time you get a day-off.

1. Retail shopping at thrift shops – they say that retail shopping is a form of therapy, and moms should take advantage of that. But if you want a little more adventure, instead of going to the mall or the usual shops can offer one of a kind pieces for a fraction of the price in designer stores. If you’re someone who likes crafts, you can even get furniture that you can upcycle and use in your own house.

2. Paint while drinking wine – try and unleash the inner Picasso in you while enjoying a glass of some red wine. Painting can be relaxing and even more when paired with some alcohol. There are many shops that offer this kind of service, but if you want it more private, just plan something with your mom friends. Bring your own paint and canvass, and of course the wine and get ready to paint.

3. Picnic with girl friends – instead of the usual afternoon tea or coffee date with your mom friends, make it more unique by planning a picnic instead. Make it a bring your own food kind of deal, where everyone is tasked to bring some meals they prepared or bought. You can pack some delicious sandwiches and mimosas, and take a road trip to the beach with your friends who need to relax as much as you do. You’ll not only enjoy good food prepared by your friends, but you’ll get to enjoy great company as well.

4. Start her own garden – gardening has proven to be a relaxing hobby for many individuals. It’s perfect for mothers who enjoy flowers or even herbs. Do your research and see what types of plants will work well on your area. If you’re not sure you have a green thumb, try some plants that do not require a lot of maintenance first, then start building your garden from there.

5. Online bingo  - here’s an activity that won’t require you to go out of the house if you don’t feel like doing so. All you need is access to the Internet. If you’ve not played it before, it’s very easy but it can bring a lot of fun. To get you started, here is a list of new bingo sites that you can look at.

Moms deserve a break every now and then. You can try many more activities aside from the ones above, the important thing is that you take time for yourself from time to time.

I'm not a spa or salon type but your suggestion of having a picnic with my girl friends sounds like a fun and relaxing thing to do. Instead of the beach, I think I would suggest we picnic at one of our beautiful state parks and get in some hiking to scenic spots in the park. Thanks for letting me know about online bingo. I'm going to check it out.
