Smart Games is an award winning game company that puts forth fun, challenging and thought-provoking games for everyone ages 3-103. Before heading back to school this week we unplugged and challenged our brains with a little fun, planning and problem solving, trying out some of the newest Smart Games.
The first game we visited from Smart Games I knew would be perfect for the littlest of my bunch, Smart Car 5 x 5. This game consists of 5 wooden blocks and 48 challenges. The idea of this game is to get the youngest age group thinking and using logic. You are challenged to come up with solution on how to get each shaped block to fit properly into the car – keeping in mind there is more than one solution. The car also moves for added fun and each piece is well constructed. Is it a toy, a puzzle or a game? It’s really all three! I was amazed at how much time my son spent finding different solutions to fitting in the blocks and when he was done, he’d take the car for a “spin” around the house.
Next up was Ghost Hunters! Here you are challenged to light up all of the ghosts by placing all the flashlight puzzle pieces correctly. With 30 challenges cards and 60 different challenges you’re using your brain in a fun and engaging way time after time.
IQ XOXO, I thought was a perfect compact challenge for my daughter, which she could enjoy solo. With four brothers sometimes my daughter just wants a little me time. IQ XOXO has given here an escape as she challenges herself to use the 10 double-sided X and O pentomino pieces to solve an incredible 120 challenges. There are 5 levels of play from starter to wizard, and I say it can be quite a challenging brainteaser. It comes in a compact size case perfect for travel as well.
