Minecraft is a game that basically took the world by storm, especially a younger generation of gamers, but I know plenty of older players that enjoy Minecraft with the same enthusiasm. Minecraft Story Mode, by Telltale Games, was introduced just in time for the holidays and is somewhere between that building and creating that makes Minecraft so enjoyable and an adventure game.
In Minecraft Story Mode you can now play as a specific gender and altar your avatar some. Story Mode allows you to be the star and your action effect and influence what happens to the “cast” around you.
“You are Jesse, and you and your friends are thrown into an awe-inspiring adventure to save the world. While visiting EnderCon, your gang stumbles on something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and your only hope is to track down the “Order of the Stone”, a fabled group of adventurers who slew the legendary Ender Dragon. But where are they? In a race against time, you will travel across the over-world, through the Nether, to The End, and beyond.”
The choice-based game play style of this game made it easily enjoyable, as your game play can completely differ from the next persons. The story is yours and is driven by the choices and action you make while in dialog with other characters, truly making you the stories star.
Purchase of Minecraft Story Mode is available on PC, PS4, PS3 and XBOX One. The retail edition of Minecraft: Story Mode will include the premiere episode on the disc, and will grant access to the subsequent four episodes in the season as they become available to download via online updates.
Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series - Episode 1: 'The Order of the Stone' is rated 'E10+' (Everyone 10+) for Fantasy Violence and Mild Language by the ESRB.
