With Memorial Day around the corner, many will be ridding their pools of their covers and diving in for the first swim of the season. Since we live in Florida we typically take our first dip a bit earlier, but ran into a snag uncovering our pool only to find a tear in the liner – boo! So, we’ll be joining many others this Memorial Day taking our first dive in.
This Memorial Day will mark another first, out son’s first experience in the pool. Pool safety and getting an early start familiarizing our children with water and swimming has always been a great priority to us. My youngest was born last April and was premature with a few complications, therefore we chose to keep him indoors most of the season and out of the water. This summer we have a lot of catching up to do and want to make sure our baby's experience entering the pool for the first time is memorable and easy, creating a life-long love of swimming. And when looking for teaching aids to help us along the way, I always know I don’t have to look any further than SwimWays.
SwimWays has been teaching children to swim for over 40 years, lending confidence to children and parents with their products and making it easy to choose the right product for your child’s water experience levels with SwimWays swim step. In fact, it wasn’t long ago SwimWays took my daughter from amateur to swimmer, with a variety of confidence building swim helpers and even fun toys!
Since my son is just starting off we are look to first familiarize him with the water. The Baby Spring Float, a step 1 swim product from SwimWays, is the perfect product to introduce baby to the water for the first time.
Easy to fold and store, coming equipped with a carrying case, the Baby Spring Float has a patented inner spring helping ensure stability and a lower center of gravity with safety values and dual air chambers to ensure security. They also have an adjustable/removable canopy for extra sun protection, which is a must for my fair skinned little man. I can’t wait to get him in the water!
If you have children in your home, whether you have a pool or not, I personally believe they should be taught respect of water and how to swim. SwimWays also believes that swimming is an important life skill and that all children should have the opportunity to learn to swim, and there is even a day dedicate to water education.
This year, the fourth annual National Learn to Swim Day is May 16th. It is designed to be a day that serves as a reminder to parents and guardians to kick off summer safely by engaging children in water safety and swim instruction.
