Tailgating Florida Style with Florida Orange Juice! Citrus Marinade #Recipe #OJTailgating #MC

Who’s ready for some football? With just 2 days left until our Giants get back to business, the excitement for another season has set in. But beyond my love for the game, I love the time spent together with family and friends. And most of all I love a good football party. But what’s a football party without good food?

Most of our favorite recipes for game day include the staple foods like wings and nachos, but we also always make full use of the grill whether in our yard or tailgating.

Complex foods and recipes don’t have a big place at the game day table. It’s all about flavor and simplicity. One of our favorites is grilled chicken in a citrus marinade made from none other than Florida Orange Juice – which we always have plenty of in the fridge.

Florida Orange Juice, is quite surprisingly an amazing addition to your game day festivities from marinates to refreshments. And with growing boys in our home, I like to make sure the game day menu has some healthy variety to it. Did you know that one 8-ounce glass of Florida OJ, is an excellent source of vitamin C, delivering more than 100 percent of the Daily Value and also counts also counts as one cup of fruit? And let’s not forget the other essential nutrients like potassium, folate and thiamin that OJ contains.

So what will we be serving up come Monday night? Grilled chicken in our favorite citrus marinate, of course! Now you can alter this recipe, making chicken skewers and adding some veggies as well. For me, I like to keep the foods I serve in a stick to be limited. With 5 kids in the house, the sticks quickly become “mini swords”.

  • Boneless skinless chicken breast

  • ¼ C 100% Florida Orange Juice
  • 1T lime juice
  • 1T jerk seasoning
  • 1t ginger, minced

Whisk together the Florida Orange Juice, lime juice, jerk seasoning, and minced ginger in a medium-sized bowl. Add the chicken to the marinade, mixing to make sure all your chicken is covered; refrigerate overnight or for at least 3 hours.

Place your marinated chicken on the grill. Turn chicken halfway through, brushing with additional marinade as desired. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until chicken is cooked completely through.

Serve immediately, or slice and serve on wraps with toppings of choice.

The flavor that the marinate locks in is amazing and everyone always loves how moist the chicken actually is. And as an added bonus it smells really good. My husband says the smell of the marinade while cooking reminds him of Christmas morning and I have to agree.

Looks like a great recipe, and that orange chicken would taste great on a salad.
Can't wait to try this!
