Real Nappies Cloth Diapers: Pure and Simple

After 5 kids you would think I would have some idea what I was doing from feeding to diapering, but I am still hit with the occasional surprise. Cloth diapering is something I was always interested in, but thought it might be a bit time consuming for my life style. And then Julian was born.

Starting his life he at just 35 weeks, things were a bit different with him then they were with my other kids. Even diapering became a challenge with his skin being so sensitive. Although I knew I wouldn’t be a full time cloth diapering mom, I did want an additional diapering option and cloths seemed to be something that would be kind to his skin. As a cloth diapering noob, I was left with in complete and utter confusion. What’s an insert? How do I fold them? What do I wash them in? And the list goes on and on. I was happy to find a brand that got straight to the point, nothing over fancy to contend with, just a cloth diapering system that does its job and does it well!

Real Nappies Cloth Diapers are New Zealand's #1 cloth diaper, selected by maternity hospitals and the only cloth diaper brand to be sold in their supermarkets. Made for 100% Indian cotton, keeping them soft, absorbent and gentle to baby’s skin.

The Real Nappies Snug Wrap diaper covers repel moisture to keep baby dryer and are easily fastened with Velcro tabs at the waist. The one thing I noted immediately however, was the lack of the leg elastic I’ve become so accustom to with disposables. I was surprise to see that without elastic, there was less irritation to the thigh area and the diaper still fit snuggly without leaks – well, are first attempt was a little disastrous due to my lack of knowledge, but we’ve gotten much better!

I will say Real Nappies were a bit bulky compared to the disposables I am use to. But I also felt the bulk aided in preventing leaks helping keep the cover snug and secure around the waist and legs. The velcro tabs also allowed me to make the proper adjustments and I would have been lost with the helpful use guide and how to videos on the website, that make Nappies welcoming to new cloth diapering moms.

While I am still learning the ins and outs of cloth diapers, being able to have another method and one I can count on not to irritate my son’s skin has been a blessing. We still use disposables as well, but having our first cloth experience taken with Nappies has been such a positive experience, I am taking steps to start using cloths more often.

Buy It: The Real Nappies Cloth Diapers Top-Up Pack contains 6 Real Nappies prefold cloth diapers, 2 Snug Wrap white diaper covers and a helpful user guide all for the low price of $35.99 at http://ShoppingMoa.com!
