A Breakfast Twist: Peanut Butter and Honey Oats Granola #Recipe #spon

Mornings are an extremely busy time around my home. I always prefer to feed my children a balanced breakfast at home rather than on-the-go, but there are days when time isn’t our friend. Luckily, Target makes it easy to not just buy and save on simple breakfast solutions, but they understand how busy mornings can be for families like mine and also offer breakfast twist recipes that anyone can make!

With some of our favorite breakfast staples on hand from Target, I’ve create a breakfast twist of my own, that can be prepared in advance, eaten on-the-go and even as a snack.
Here is my recipe for Peanut Butter and Honey Oats Granola.

A Granola Twist: Peanut Butter & Honey Oats Granola #Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup Natures Valley Honey & Oats Granola
  • 1 cup Jiff Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ tbsps. vanilla extract
Directions:

-Preheat oven to 300 F.
-In a large bowl combine oats, granola, salt and cinnamon.
-In a medium sized saucepan combine peanut butter, Nutella, maple syrup and honey, heating over medium/low heat; stir occasionally until smooth and melted.
-Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over oats & granola mixture and stirring until incorporated.
-Place combined mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring at the 10 minute mark.
-Remove from oven and cool completely.

Granola should crumple upon removal from pan, but you can assist the process; store in air tight container or resalable bags for a simple breakfast twist on your average granola that you can enjoy at home or on the go. Try using it as a topping too!

This looks great for breakfast on the go - or a great snack. It would be much cheaper - and probably healthier - than most pre-made store-bought granola bars!
