Complete with night vision the D-Link Cloud Camera allows you to keep an eye on what matters most, providing around-the-clock surveillance so you can check in on your home or office from wherever you are from your smartphone or tablet. The built-in ICR filters and IR LEDs allows a clear image even in complete darkness. Integrated sound/motion-sensing technology detects changes within the camera’s environment, triggering instant email alerts along with on the spot high quality remote video viewing.
I was surprised based on the unit’s size and price point to see that it did pack a punch – you can see up to 15 feet in the pitch black. Composed of plastic, this camera can be left free standing or mounted to a wall.
As a soon-to-be new mom once again, the D-link Cloud Camera will also make for great video monitoring of my sleeping little one. Hearing baby is important, but being able to see and hear your little one without bothering them, that really provides piece of mind.
Always know your home, pets, and even kids are secure by peeking in from afar. With the mydlink Lite app for iPhone and Android, you can quickly and easily see your camera feed from anywhere with a Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G connection. You can pan and tilt your camera for clearer view or better angle, and even zoom in; all by remote access.
If you’re worried about your pets setting off the motion detection feature, there is a screen that will let you define an area for detection and you can increase or decrease the sensitivity. As far as audio detection this model has a one way mic, meaning you can hear in, but can’t speak back. You can also adjust the audio settings based on your preferences.
Boost your signal
As an added bonus this unit also works as a Wi-Fi booster. By simply placing your camera somewhere within your Wi-Fi range you’ll instantly increase your wireless home coverage helping eliminate those dead spots. Of course, with a house full of gamers (and a blogger) we are always pushing our Wi-Fi capabilities to their limits. My sons room seems to drop his signal often, so his truly grateful to have this new piece of technology around the house.
For the price, this is an acceptable camera that does its job. You’ll get the occasional false alarm email or alert, which I fully expected. But for my family’s needs this unit was perfect.
