There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing my daughter take a break from all the technology around her and get back to the basics of creative play. And last weekend she did just that thanks to her new Sprouts® Ring It Up Cash Register by Learning Resources.

When pushed each button on the register reveals a picture of fruits, of the coordinating number; press the number five and five blueberries are shown, and so on. This helps reinforce counting skills, while the 5 included “coins” help introduce money concepts.
With a fun coin slide and pop-open cash drawer my daughter has been setting up shop all over the house and spent over an hour outside serving her “customers” through her food window – as she called it.
There are two coin slots and five included numbered coins. One coin slot returns the money directly to the cash draw, while the other comes down the coin slide as “change.” We’ve also incorporated our own play bill money to further reinforce money counting concepts, since she is currently learning money in school.
No batteries required this is a fun register recommended for ages 2 – 4, but my six year old can’t get enough of it. She even tried to take it in the tub!
