Slow Cooker Sausage and Pepper #Recipe


Ingredients:


  • 1 lb. mild sausage (about 8 sausages)
  • 2 green bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 yellow onions, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil 
  • Salt and pepper
  • 6 Italian rolls, optional
Directions:

Boil sausage for about 30 minutes; cool and slice. Add sausage, peppers, onions, garlic tomatoes, and seasonings to the slow cooker, stirring together.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. Serve on fresh Italian bread or over white rice with or without the juices. We prefer with.

This is easily one of my husbands and daughters favorites, which I've made for years!

This is my kind of meal! Very little actual work, let the crock pot do it! I'd serve it on a nice crusty Italian hero roll, melt a little mozzarella, and Mama Mia! Great with some Chianti !
