Why an Eco-Conscious Generation is Choosing Cartons #Sponsored

Having children impacts are lives in many ways. Besides the obvious changes, it also brings to the forefront topics that we might have once over looked; chemicals in foods, general safety, our eco footprint etc.  Suddenly we realize the importance of providing our children with the best future possible and there are many, MANY elements our lives that affect our future.

Disclosure: This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Evergreen Pacakging for Emerse. All opinions are 100% mine and have not been influenced.

Did you know that according to EcoFocus Worldwide’s 2013 EcoFocus Trend Study, nearly three-fourths (73%) of women with kids are classified as EcoAware Moms? It’s also been shown that Eco-Conscience Moms focus on not just what goes into food or a product, but they also consider the environmental impact of a product’s package.

As someone who would consider themselves an EcoAware Mom, I often wonder why I can no longer purchase my milk in a carton and why it is that cartons are often the least recycled product….

So why choose cartons? Cartons are absolutely recyclable; a typical refrigerated carton is usually about an 80 percent paper, 20 percent plastic combination. The paper in each carton actually comes from a renewable resource that is responsibly replenished – trees! This means you are conserving energy by choosing a sustainable product package in the first place.

This is just one of many reasons to choose cartons. In fact, in an effort to provide families with all the information on carton packaging choices, Evergreen Packaging recently relaunched, a site dedicated to educating consumers about the benefits and eco-friendly attributes of carton packaging. They also have a few fun downloads for the kids!

Do you consider yourself an EcoAware Mom? Were you aware of the benefits to carton packaging?

I was not aware of the benefits of carton packaging. I always thought that they were a harm to the environment, but it is nice to know that this is not true. It make me feel better knowing that cartons are okay to use!
