Disclosure: I am a K'NEX Brand Ambassador. Products and information in this review were provided to me in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own  and are in no way influenced.

Children love to create and build and by doing so they are able to inspire creativity and build self-confidence.  Building sets have always offered my kids a fun creative outlet and that’s why I love K'NEX.

K’nex offer next generation building sets, available for a variety of ages. Unlike block based building sets most K’NEX sets feature moving parts, sticks, and connectors to create life like mini versions of a child’s favorite things.

As part of the K'NEX Ambassador program we were sent some fun K'NEX products to test drive

As an intro into the world of K'NEX classic intro sets are perfect for first time builders age 5+.  With three sets to choose from; plane, helicopter and fire truck the building fun is non-stop with larger connect pieces for smaller hand and more simplistic designs.

K'NEX Intro Sets

My oldest son was kind enough to guide my youngest son and daughter through the construction of each set.

They were really intrigued by the helicopters working rotor and the fire trucks spinning wheels! Another neat thing to note is that the three (3) intro sets can be combined to build a space shuttle with cargo doors that open and close! My younger guys haven’t made it that far yet, but I’m sure that will be their next task.

SRP per set $5.99

Robo-Creatures Series

For my oldest sons K’NEX has the awesome Robo-Creatures Series, which are actually motorized! With 2 AA Batteries (not included) and some following of directions you can watch your creature come to life before your eyes. I have to admit I found this rather neat.

Made for builders 7 and up, these pieces were smaller and ran about 150+ per set.

K’NEX Figures

Mystery figure packages are a fairly new product from K'NEX and were an instant hit with not only my children, but me as well. The new Super Mario Bros. Wii Collectible Mystery figures are too cool. As big fans of Super Mario Bros. the kids and I were equally excited to dig into these packages.

#KNEX Super Mario Bros. Wii. Mystery figures

Each mystery bag includes one buildable figure from New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Including: Fire Mario™, Mario™, Luigi™, Ice Luigi™, Blue Yoshi™, Yellow Yoshi™, Blue Toad™, Yellow Toad™ or Princess Peach.

Once removed from the package you'll build your favorite character and can even mix-n-match pieces. Each figure is fully compatible with the entire Mario line of K’NEX products.   We are still on a mission to find Princess Peach and I may or may not have stolen these from my kids and have them displayed on a shelf in my office...

Super Mario Bros. Wii. Mystery Packs are recommended for ages 5+ at sell for the SRP of $3.99 per pack

Mario figures and K'NEXmen

K’NEXmen Mystery Figure packs were a recent winner of the 2013 Tillywig Best Creative Fun Award! They feature 16 different figures in this first series. Each set includes not one, but two, K’NEXmen figures.

Just like the Super Mario Bros. Wii characters, you'll build your K'NEXmen right out of the package (it's super easy) and can also switch parts like helmets and such. This is a larger series were fans can enjoy collecting and building figures such as pirates, astronauts, pilots, race car drivers, zombies and more. You just never know what you'll find inside a pack of K'NEXmen!

K'NEXmen are recommended for ages 5+ for the SRP of $2.99 per pack

As always K'NEX rods, connectors etc. are proudly made in the USA

These look like fun toys. My son will definitely love the K'Nex Robo-Creatures. I'm really excited to find them because it is 105-degrees here and I wanted to get him some new toys since we are inside so much.

My kids loved K'Nex when they were younger and so did I. Building toys are so good for them. And they were so durable.

Knex is fabulous toys to buy for children and I bought one of these toys for my nephew for his birthday. I bought the Lincoln Logs. I had so much fun playing with these when I was growing up! Great toys to own!

These toys are great for encouraging kids to build and to use their imaginations. I have fond memories of building things when I was a kid and I know my boys would love these!

Tinkertoys and lincoln Logs we played with many years ago as a child. My grandson has both as well and can play for hours. He would love the Super Mario Brothers
