Hoover High Performance Bagless Upright Vacuum Review

My carpets are nothing but a never ending battle, between the kids and the dogs they  never stood a chance. And by purchasing a home with light beige carpeting, I was just setting myself up for failure. I’ve also learned that I typically set our vacuums up for failure as well. Between the massive amounts of pet hair and my kids small toys (and socks) that never fail to find their way into my vacuum, most of our vacuums say adiós within the first month.

Hoover
Disclosure: I am a Hoover Insider. I was supplied with  product to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own and are in no way influenced.
Last year my luck picked up some when I was introduced to the Hoover WindTunnel® Air™ Bagless Upright. This little devil really packed some suction. It was lightweight and had an amazing extendable arm for cleaning those cobwebs out of my ceiling corners. Well, like they say, all good things must come to an end – especially in this house! Someone, my oldest son, thought he would help Mom by vacuuming up a pile of dog pee!! Needless to say by the time I figured out what had happened the stench had already set in and the “dust” in the bin had become caked inside the canister…sigh.

When I heard Hoover had a new pet hair buster in town, I was really excited to see if it could make me love it as much as the Hoover WindTunnel® Air™  did.

Designed with the same exclusive WindTunnel 3 technology as the WindTunnel Air, the Hoover High Performance Bagless Upright Vacuum lifts and removes deep down embedded dirt with three channels of suction.

I think the first thing that stands out when you look at this vacuum are its sleek appearance with a shiny red body and chrome looking finishes. But, pretty doesn’t matter when it comes to dirt, the most important thing was would this vacuum keep up with my kids and pets.

From the box the Hoover High Performance Bagless Upright Vacuum requires minimal assembly, just insert a single screw for the handle and you’re on your way.

Arriving at the perfect time because we’ve just begun switching some of our carpeted rooms over to hardwood, this vacuum features a multi-floor brushroll on/off option allowing you to easily transition between hard floors and carpet using just your foot.

Tackle pet hair with ease with the on board pet tool pack, which helps remove even stubborn pet hair and get into those hard to reach spaces. There is also a pet "turbo tool" that cleans furniture and stairs.

Pet tools

What I really love however, is how easy these tools are to use. The 15' hose is pre attached to the vacuum. All you have to do is attach your tool of choice to the hose (pet tool, expansion wand or crevice tool) and turn the knob from floor to hose!

Floor to Hose Cleaning

I can't tell you how much of a time saver this is for a busy Mom?! It's such a pain to have to hook and unhook hoses just to suck up that wad of pet hair in the corner or those crumbs from under the couch. And, yes, we have crumbs under the couch... doesn't everyone??

Hoovers High Performance Bagless Upright also features a rinsible, reusable filter as well as a carbon and HEPA media filter, trapping 99.97 percent of dirt, dust and pollens down to 0.3 microns.  A must when trying to manage my kids easily irritated allergies.

Debris is trapped in a convenient bottom release cup, making emptying a cinch.

While this vacuum was bigger and bulkier than my previous vacuum, it still packed that punch I was in need of, and has so far been able to maintain optimal suction through all our tough cleanups. If you're looking for a tough vacuum with appeal that can get the job done the Hoover High Performance Bagless Upright Vacuum might be for you. I will note though if your home has multiple levels you vacuum on a regular bases you might want to opt for the Hoover WindTunnel® Air™  instead.

Buy It: Purchase the Hoover High Performance Bagless Upright Vacuum exclusively at Walmart.com for the SRP of  $179.99

I need a new vacuum bad and even if it's bulky, as long as it did a great job, that is what is important. I like it!

I need a new Vacuum Cleaner and this is such a great one. I like that it is a Hoover! Hoover makes the best vacuums, and that it has a hepa filter to get out all the allergens. Plus I like the color!

I have been curious about this Hoover. We always had them when I was growing up and they were great. But they were the bag type and I certainly don't want that! I love the on-board hoses. What a great convenience. This will be one I look at when I am ready to buy another.

I like that this is bagless and it has a HEPA filter which helps with allergies as it remove almost 100% of those . I need a new vacuum cleaner one that gets all that cat hair and dirt up so I sneeze less. thanks for the info

Oh this looks like a great vacuum cleaner! I have never used a bagless before, that would be so wonderful to not have to buy the bags anymore! I also love that it helps with allergies!
