Goldfish Puffs Helping Make Summer Snacking Simple #Makeitgopuff #Shop #cbias

I would say I can’t believe we’re almost a month into summer break here, but one look into my bare cupboards is all the proof I need that I’m in for a long summer with four kids who seem to never stop snacking.

New at Target Goldfish Puffs #Makeitgopuff #Shop

The first few weeks of summer break are usually the hardest as learn to adjust my grocery list to my children’s mid-day snacking needs. You can bet I am always on the look-out for healthier snack options that will please even the oldest – who is now apparently too cool for bear shaped gram crackers and superhero shaped fruit snacks. This week I came across an exciting new snack, Goldfish Puffs at Target.

#Makeitgopuff

Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Puffs are a new snack with a “chip like” bag designed to appeal to tweens and teens, and with flavors like Buffalo Wing and Cheddar Bacon they also appeal to their maturing taste buds.

We want to say they reminded us a bit of a cheese puff (especially the mega cheese flavor) but they have more of a crunch to them and you get a burst a flavor in each bite. As far as looks, they have the classic goldfish shape only larger and of course puffier – I call them pufferfish ;)

Usually when I introduce a new snack to the house the reviews are mixed and rightfully so as everyone has their own taste, but when it came to Goldfish Puffs each flavor was a hit! And because the flavors were bolder, my oldest, and pickiest, was their biggest fan.

Proof that no matter how cool you think you are, you’re never too cool for Goldfish!

What Mom Loves

Of course it’s a miracle in itself to find one snack that appeals to all my kids equally, but it’s even harder to find it in a snack I also agree to. Goldfish Puffs are baked up with natural flavored goodness and are even gluten free.

Sold in large bags and “travel-size” they are perfect for taking along on all our summer journeys; beach, practice, park etc. And would you believe they’re fun to cook with too?!  I, like many, have used classic Goldfish Crackers as an ingredient in many of my meals (their especially good for breading chicken,) so I thought to myself why not utilize the Puffs in a family dinner as well?

Goldfish Casserole

I took a cup of Extra Cheese Goldfish Puffs, crushed them up and used them to top my tuna casserole. Not only did the kids think it was neat, but it added a bold twist to other wise simple dinner.

Tune Noodle Casserole with Goldfish Puffs #Makeitgopuff #shop

Ingredients:

  • 1 package egg noodles
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup chopped green onion
  • 1 (6 ounce) can solid white tuna packed in water, drained and flaked
  • 1 can sweet peas, drained 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 ¼ cups Pepperidge Farm Extra Cheese Goldfish Puffs, crushed

Cook noodles according to package directions; drain.

In medium sized bowl combined all ingredients reserving 1 cup of goldfish puffs and ½ cup of cheese. Mix ingredients well combining together with noodles in a casserole dish; sprinkle reaming cheese and Goldfish Puffs on top of the casserole.

Bake for about 25 minutes, until heated through.

What I enjoy about this is it's one of those rare dishes my kids actually enjoy reheated so it's also a makes for great lunch leftovers!

Very cool! We used to live near a Pepperidge Farm factory and would buy large quantities of gold fish crackers. I wish that we still lived near a factory because I miss that. I can't wait to try these new ones!

These look fun! I'll have to find a bag for the grandkids to try. We've enjoyed Goldfish for a long time now. They are a food my husband and I snack on even when the grandkids aren't around.

This casserole looks great. I haven't ever put the green onions in mine but I need to do that. And putting the Goldfish in it, great for the kids
