At Home Hair Removal with Remington's #iLIGHTPro #Sponsored

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Remington. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.”

Being a women isn’t always easy, especially when it comes to all our grooming routines. Now that the weather has warmed up, and those shorts, skirts and bathing suits are back in play. I am reminded of how much I hate shaving! Well, honestly, it’s not shaving I hate. It’s the fact that shaving seems to be a never-ending battle for me...

It’s just an endless cycle of hair removal!!

The Hair Removal Battle

Like most women, I’ve tried it all. From dilatory creams to waxing, nothing has successfully kept the hair at away longer than a few days. And let’s face it. Waxing is pricey, lacks privacy, is painful and requires time to hit the salon – something a busy mom like me doesn’t have much of.

You can imagine my delight in learning about the Remington i-LIGHT Pro. An Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Hair Removal System for use in the privacy of your own home. But would it actually work? Over the next 6 weeks, I will be using the i-LIGHT Pro and sharing with you how well the Remington i-LIGHT Pro works for me. But for now, let me introduce you to the Remington i-LIGHT Pro and how it works.

 Remington i-LIGHT Pro Review
The Remington i-LIGHT Pro, is an FDA cleared, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) device for at-home removal of unwanted hair on arms, legs, bikini, underarms, stomach and chest. i-LIGHT Pro's exclusive ProPulse technology brings to you the same long lasting results as professional laser (or IPL) treatments without the lack of privacy, high cost and inconvenience you’ll find from in-office visits.

i-Light Pro IPL device

For those of you not familiar with Intense Pulsed Light treatments, IPL works below skin’s surface to disable active hairs and prevent new ones from growing. When light energy is generated by a Xenon flash lamp and applied to the skin, the light actually targets the pigment in the hair follicles, disrupting the growth cycle. It is also for this reason that treatments work better on those with dark blonde to black body hair as opposed to blonde or red. Hair will begin to fall out within a few weeks of the initial treatment and results should improve over time.

Chart for use of the i-Light Pro

Please note** Do not use the i-LIGHT Pro on dark skin or over tattoos or dark spots on your skin. To activate the unit your skin pigment will be tested by the i-LIGHT Pro, if it’s found too dark the unit will not function for your safety.

Understanding and using the i-Light Pro via video:

This week I completed my first treatment with the i-LIGHT Pro. I was feeling brave and started off at the highest energy level. For me personally, there was really no pain even at the max setting. Where I did notice some discomfort – like a quick pin prick- was on areas I didn’t shave completely. I recommended making sure you’ve completely shaved the areas you will be treating and start at a low power setting, slowly increasing it to your personal comfort level.

The recommended treatment schedule is three treatments every two weeks initially and then only as needed. They say results can last 4-6 months! Can you imagine? I’ve only just completed my first treatment, including: under arms, bikini and legs. I’m really excited to come back in 6 weeks, after my initial set of treatments is complete, and let you know my final thoughts.

Home hair removal

The Remington i-LIGHT Pro can be purchased for the SRP of $249.99 coming equipped with 1 cartridge that provides 1,500 flashes for 2-3 full body treatments. Additional cartridges sold separately for the price of $24.99 each.

What form of hair removal do you prefer? Would you prefer a more permanent removal option like IPL?

Shaving can be a pain and waxing can be expensive over time. The long term costs would be worth it. Keep us updated on the results.

I was wondering about this. I had laser hair removal over ten years ago on my legs and it definitely thinned out the amount of hair, but then it was so expensive that I only did a few treatments. This sounds really cool.

I have a similar device and it really works. It takes awhile for the results to show, but using a Home Hair removal product that uses a light to remove hair. I like this better than shaving!

I have always been curious about this type of hair removal and how well it works. There is a good bit of cost involved, so I am looking forward to seeing your future posts on how well it works and how much time it takes!! Thanks!

I'm curious to see how this turns out! I've been wanting to do the laser hair removal for a long time, but just don't wanna spend that much money :(

I dont mind shaving my legs. I dont know if I would use this products it seem like it takes a lot to do it and is time consuming too. I would just rather shave mine. Thats way to costly for me even at that price. I would rather use that money for groceries. Curious to see how you make out tho.

I can't wait for your updates on this. I know for a fact, my daughter would invest in something like this if it works. She got her eyebrows done and they messed up and cut one almost off in half and it never did grow back. Now she has to pencil it in. She would definitely want this, she hates shaving
