Back-to-School Organization Made Easy with Staples {Review}

Staples is in the business of making things easy. That’s why as parents everywhere are preparing for summer vacation, Staples is already thinking back-to-school, and how to make the transition into the 2013-2014 school year easier for you!

This year was a year of many first in our home, including a child heading off to Kindergarten and one entering middle school. And while I was sad to see my baby going off to Kindergarten, I already knew what to expect. The surprises of the school year all came from my son. Middle school was a big transition! All his work has to be completed on the computer, homework was piled on, and organization (which he lacks) was a must.

So with the help of Staples, I am getting a head start on the new school year by adding some furnishing to his room, which I think will help his organization and provide him with a neat workspace, all his own.

The Ameriwood® Carson 8-Cube Storage Organizer Bookcase comes complete with 4 Toffee Woven Bins, 6 Adjustable Shelves and features laminate construction. I thought this organizer would not just look good in my son’s room, but it would supply him with an area to keep his textbooks. The Mom in me was also thinking he could stash his papers in the bins, out-of-sight, leaving his room less messy looking! The dimensions to this unit are: 60-3/16"H x 28-7/16"W x 12-5/8"D

While this Organizer Bookcase does require full assembly, I was actually able to assemble it on my own with just a hammer and power drill. Note* Assembly can be complete with  a screwdriver instead of a drill.

Construction was relatively easy. The instructions are illustration only, which was fine for me until the last step. It was a little tricky attaching the rails and I didn't realize I made an error until I finished screwing them in. Overall, it took me about 30 minutes to complete.

Next I went with the Staples® Easy2Go Student Desk, in matching Resort Cherry finish. This is a compact desk perfect for a bedroom or dorm.

*Please note we are replacing the flooring in my son's room and it is not yet complete. To complete this review I set up the desk in my living room in order to supply you with a photo.

Construction of the desk was a bit simpler than the organizer, taking just 15 minutes using  a power drill.
The Easy2Go desk features a pull out tray for your keyboard or laptop and small cabinet for storage. This desk will be just the right size for my son's room, providing him with his own personal workspace for all those power point projects he steals my 'office' to complete.

If you’re looking for a simple, affordable desk for your child’s room or college dorm, the Easy@Go Student Desk is a reasonable option.

Don’t forget to keep Staples in mind this back-to-school season for all your child’s needs. From dorm furnishings to crayons, Staples makes it easy, carrying it all online and in-store.

Very nice and compact, I like that. My son has so much electronic stuff in his room that he could actually use those bins for storage of controllers and such. All those wires make me nuts. I think I could hand the assembly too.

These are great looking and the prices are awesome. Might even be good for "fill-in" for my son's dorm room as he heads off to college in the fall.

They always have some super deals at Staples as well. My sister buys all her things from there. This desk would be great for my grandsons room and his computer

Staples has a lot of great deals every week on items. I have a $30 keyboard that I got for $5 dollars! It has worked really good for two years. I have gotten paper, pens and envelopes for so cheap! Great place to shop for back to school!

I love the colors in that cabinet. I really need a home office makeover, with good sturdy storage.

This is a great way to get organized. I'm actually looking for a new computer desk since our last one is in poor shape. I may have to head to Staples to see what they have available.
