Nature's Own Bread and Chipotle-Citrus Club #Recipe

Nature's Own

With four growing children bread would definitely be high up on our "most consumed" list.  After years of buying only white bread I thought it was time to make a change. When Nature’s Own offered to send me a variety of bread options for us to sample, I was quite curious what the kids (and I) would think.

For us Nature’s Own bread products are already a better choice, as they contain no high fructose corn syrup, artificial preservatives, colors or flavors, trans fats or cholesterol.  However the goodness of Nature’s Own bread products does not end there as we were to learn.

Varieties we loved

Healthy bread options

Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal Toasters are the perfect way to start your morning. Packed with whole grains real fruit and oats, their unique square shape makes them perfect for toasting. These have been a blessing on those rush mornings. Their not just simple to make, but are actually quite tasty and good for you too.

We were also sent Nature’s Own Sandwich Rounds. The Healthy Multi-Grain variety is only 100-calories and contains a strong 5 grams of fiber. They are suitable for a more “slimming” alternative to your traditional sandwich bread. Great for a burger, deli meats, and more!

Next we were sent Nature’s Own 100% Whole Wheat Grain bread along with Honey Wheat Bread. These were what we were looking for as far as daily consumption breads went for school lunches and such.

Low in fat you will find every slice of the 100% Whole Wheat bread bursting with 12 grams of nutritious whole grain and topped with a blend of bran flakes, flax seeds and amaranth seeds. I’m typically not a big fan of whole grain bread, but toasted it tasted just fine and I heard no complaining from my husband or kids - that's a switch.

Now the Honey Wheat Bread was easily my favorite and my choice for an everyday variety. While I didn’t taste any honey, I loved the smooth flavor and the fact that I was adding a little healthy grain to my diet, something I wasn’t doing beforehand.

This bread was so tasty I had to take a look at the Nature’s Own recipe section and see what they recommended for pairing with this bread, when I came across a simply scrumptious recipe/

Chipotle-Citrus Club Sandwich Recipe adapted from Nature’s Own

Chipotle-Citrus Club Sandwhich #Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 3 slices Nature's Own Honey Wheat Bread, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • ½ chipotle pepper in adobo sauce or to taste
  • lettuce
  • tomato slices
  • 3 slices bacon (or turkey bacon,) cooked crisp
  • sliced turkey breast
  • 1 slice American cheese
  •  Pepper

Combine chipotle pepper, oil and orange juice in small food processor until smooth; spread mixture on one side of each bread slice.

Top one slice of bread with lettuce, tomato and bacon; season with pepper.
Place another bread slice over bacon; top with turkey and remaining bread slice, sauce side down. Slice, and serve.

This was such a unique twisted to the classic turkey club and I simply loved it on this bread. This makes a great lunch or even a simple, oven free dinner option for when summer starts really heating up.

Thanks Nature's Own for switching up or routine and helping me find a better option for lunch and beyond.

Not only does the bread sound delicious, but chipotle is one of my favorite flavors! I am vegan so I will make a few substitutions but this should be so yummy. Thanks for the recipe!
