Learning to Swim with #SwimWays Products

Swim Step Ambassador Logo Badge

I am a SwimWays Ambassador. Samples have been provided to facilitate my review. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own and are in no way influenced.

How confident are you in your child’s swimming abilities? We’ve been working on making sure my children were strong swimmers since we moved to Florida. With almost every home including a pool, it was really important that my children were taught safety around water and to be confident swimmers. I’ll admit though, with my daughter, learning to swim has been a real struggle.

Luckily, this year I was welcomed aboard the SwimWays Swim Team and was provided with some necessary products my children need to feel comfortable and confident learning to swim this summer. Being an older learner with some background in at least floating around the pool, Swimways sent my daughter (and son) some Step 3 swim training products including the Power Swimr™ System and Sea Squirts Swim Assist.

Swimming teaching aids

Geared toward children 2-9 years of age. The Power Swimr™ System, so far, seems to  be just what my daughter needed to give her that extra boost of confidence.

SwimWays Swim Float Vest

Helping kids learn to swim at their own pace, the Power Swimr™ System is a wearable, adjustable, floatation device which advances with your child’s swimming level. The adjustable cords provide a secure fit, while hidden pockets keep the floatation devices securely in place on their abdomen and back.

On day one my daughter wanted no part of it. She preferred her arm bands and holding on to the ladder for dear life! By day two, she was a little less resistant to the Power Swimr™  System and at least allowed me to put it on her, but still wouldn’t move from the ladder.  A little more coaching and another day past, she finally let go and squealed “I’m not sinking!”

Kids swim

She now adores her Swimways "vest" and I am amazed at how independent and comfortable in the water she has become. This is a huge turn around from just a few weeks ago. She also says, contrary to how it might look, it is very comfortable and easy to move in.  We are now working on learning how to float on our belly and move our hands and feet as opposed to simply floating around the pool, wading water – one step at a time with my little Ms. Cautious.

The Power Swimr™ System is available in 3 styles and sizes for the SRP of $22.95 at Swimways.com

The Sea Squirt Assist Is actually quite a cool looking product and one that my son is dying to use at the beach.

Swim vest with fin

This “fin-tastic” vest is equipped with Buoyancy Technology, helping children achieve the correct swim position.  With three removable flotation panels you are able to adjust the Swim Assist to your child's swim ability. For example, this will be the next step for my daughter, helping aid her in correct positioning. But she is far less confident than my son, who does need position guidance but is less fearful and way more confident in his abilities. For him we’ve decreased the floatation some.

Swim safety

Not only does the Swim Assist help little ones gain confidence, but it’s super fun to wear. Featuring a Flexible back fin for some fun in the water that does not affect their ability to sit or cause discomfort out of the water.

fun swim vests for kids

Available in 3 sizes: small, medium and large for children 2-9yrs. Swim Assist swim training aids come in style varieties Orca, Blue Dolphin, Pink Dolphin or Clown Fish design for the SRP of $32.95 at Swimways.com

I think we’ve already made some great progress in just 2 weeks. I can’t wait to share our journey with SwimWays products throughout the summer. I'm optimistic that I will have not 2, but 4 swimmers by the end of this summer.

Are you teaching a little swimmer this summer and looking to save? Don't forget about that $5.00 off three (3) SwimWays products coupon, found HERE. Coupon valid until 5/31/13

I swim 3 times a week and can't remember every NOT being able to swim. Anything that gives kids confidence in the water is great.

I love the fin on the back. How cute is that! These all look like great products to help kids learn to swim. I wish they were that cute when my kids were small.

I love that these are so stylish while, at the same time, teaching kids about water safety. The colors and designs really make them appealing to kids and help to keep parents from being too nervous when their kids hit the water.
