Brylane Home: Double Deep Fryer and Corn Dog Bites #Recipe

While fried foods might not always be the best choice, it’s hard for me to deny how great fried foods taste. I mean is there anything that isn’t better fried? From chicken and bacon to Oreos and twinkes, it’s all been fried and it’s all tasted great. One way I’ve been able to resist the fried temptations over the past year or so, was by not investing in a new deep fryer after mine broke. While not a horrible idea, as someone who enjoys cooking, it was an appliance that it some cases I really needed. So when Brylane Home offered to send me their Double Deep Fryer for review, I just couldn’t resist.

Deep Fryer

Frying separate foods at one time has never been easier with the Double Deep Fryer from BrylaneHome, featuring: two enameled tanks, separate controls and timer, two wire baskets and see-thru lids with filter.

What is great about this deep fryer is, I can cook up some shrimp in one side, while frying up chicken in the other side, and not have the flavors combine. You might not think this would be a huge issue, but my husband refuses to eat anything that has come in contact in anyway, with any form of fish. Also I find mixing fried foods affects the overall taste of a dish; especially since different fried foods can require different oils for frying.

BrylaneHome Small Appliance Reviews

What I didn’t like was that the enamel tanks did quite sit right within the holder affecting the way the lids attached as well, but each tank still fried with perfection. Also you should note each tank requires about a gallon of oil to properly cover the food within the baskets.

Deep Fryer

One of the first meals we cooked, beyond some chicken and fries, were corn dogs. My son has been begging for me to make him corn dogs since that last time we were at the fair. And as soon as he seen that deep fryer, corn dogs were the first thing he asked for. Since the length and depth of the fryer wasn’t quite right for "dipping" full sized corn dogs, we opted for yummy corn dog bites, which you must try!

Mini corn dogs, recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 package beef hotdogs
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions:

In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, sugar and baking powder. Stir in eggs and milk. Place your batter in the fridge for about an hour; the colder the batter the better it will adhere to the hotdog.

Preheat deep fryer to 350. Cut each hotdog in thirds and roll in batter until well coated. This is the part I let my kids do, since it’s messy they love it!

Fry completely covered in oil, in batches until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

I  received above mentioned product(s) and or information  from BraylaneHome and or PR cpmpany , for review purpose. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. My opinion is always my own and it no way influenced.

I like that the deep fryer features two fry bins. That would be useful in my home. Great recipe as well.

I would love to have this fryer! We do a lot of fish frying in the spring and summer months and I always have to do the fries in the oven.
Thanks for sharing!

I'm a little scared of using deep fryers. But I don't cook much anyway.

My daughter loves corn dogs and I never knew how to make them. She is going to be thrilled that we can have them at home and do not have to wait until we go to the shore or a carnival.
Thanks!

I so want a fryer - and this is awesome being a double fryer! I could make french fries and Greek loukoumades at the same time! I am going to have to go check it out.
