Home Decor that will Stand Out

Every year around this time I become obsessed with changing up my decor while still keeping a space that is inviting and relaxing. I get bored quickly, so also making it interesting and different is a must. The occasional potted plant is a standard addition in many living rooms but you don’t have to settle for a little greenery, choose a unique space and go with a lot greenery or choose something a little bit different, something everyone will notice but in a positive way.

You may be thinking that mirrors are already overused in decorating, but it’s the frame that makes the mirror. Multi-panel large mirrors are reminiscent of antique windows, allowing you to introduce some vintage flair with a modern purpose.

Curtains and blinds are usually something seen in every home, but you can choose more unique window treatments like solar blinds. You can see through the fabric and at the same time, block out the harmful UV rays. This is a simple way emphasize a great view while still blocking those rays.

Candles are a staple in most home decor. Tall pillars and elegant grouping in monochromatic colors are popular, but you can mix things up and make it more unique by placing the candles in an elegant lantern. Lanterns bring more attention to the candles and make the entire room a little more interesting. And can be purchased in so many unique styles you sure to find something suitable for your taste.

Over-sized Objects
Over-sized vases and statues work well on the floor framed by your couch or even windows. Taking a vase from the shelf to the floor gives it a whole new look and feel. Next time it doesn't fit on a shelf, try finding a spot on the floor. You might be surprised at how great it looks down there.

Natural Elements
Another option is to bring in natural elements. Tables made of reclaimed wood are functional and attractive. When your friends ask about the cool table their drink is sitting on, you can proudly explain how it’s crafted from reclaimed wood. You can also choose mirrors or art framed in driftwood to add texture, style and interest to the room.

There is no limit to the items that can be added to your home. Whether you’re going for a vintage look or a natural feel, it’s your home. There is no wrong choice; just the perfect items that will help you express your personality.

This wall decor is so pretty. I like to have my home look like this. I do have really nice curtains that really make my living room look so nice and the flooring really makes a house look great. I need some new wall decor to spiff up the walls.

I love redoing my home when I have a chance. I spent 11 hours today trying to paint my son's room in the complicated pattern he wanted. :)If you lived closer I could have used lots of help!
