Dessert Designer - How to Make Spaceship Lollipops #Recipe

As much as I love to cook everyone has their favorite type of cooking. For me baking up delicious desserts wins hands-down. One of the real reason I like to prepare dessert (besides that they are just yummy in general) is for getting my kids involved. And with the release of Dessert Designer by Capstone Young Readers you will learn not to just create some unique desserts but that it's sometimes OKAY to play your food!  With Dessert Designers you can bond with your child in the kitchen using store-bought baked goods, easy to find ingredients and step-by-step instructions.

Dessert Designer focuses on the BEST part of baking -- DECORATING! Kids can let their imaginations run wild by turning cakes into roller coasters, cupcakes into glitzy armadillos and cookies and candy into sweet sushi and rainbows (complete with a pot of gold).

When this book first arrive I was excited to note that I had all the ingredients already in-stock to create some fun spaceship pops. And by using store-bought goods we were able to get creative and keep the mess to a minimum!

Spacey Treats!

Recipes for kids

What you need per pop:
  • 1 Chocolate Striped Shortbread cookies
  • 2 Red Gumdrops
  • Sugar Pearls
  • And royal green icing

Directions:
Thread gumdrop upside down on a lollipop stick. Next, place the striped cookie upside down. Finally, add another gumdrop on top to hole the cookie in place.

Pipe green icing around the cookies edge; place sugar pearls along the icing edge to make “lights.” Tip: Use tweezers to help with pearl placement.
