While some can’t start their day without a cup of coffee, I can’t start my day, afternoon, or evening with a hot cup of tea. I’ve always enjoyed a cup of tea here and there, but when I found myself pregnant with my daughter I looked at tea in a whole new way. I was plagued with morning sickness and willing to take any advice on how to ease my discomfort, when my midwife recommended a lemon and ginger herbal tea blend.
I never thought herbal teas were for me, but like I said I was willing to try anything. I was beyond surprised to find that, not only did I enjoy the tea and its soothing effects on my queasy stomach, but it was caffeine free and safe for me to drink throughout my pregnancy. I guess you can say this is where my real passion for tea began. After giving birth I continued drinking tea and experimenting with different blends. It didn't take long for me to note the quality in one brand in particular, Bigelow Tea.
Bigelow Tea offers a huge variety of tea’s from a company enriched with a deep family history. The freshness in each tea bag is preserved within individually sealed foil pouches found inside a box of Bigelow. If you’re a tea drinker who has yet to experience Bigelow's fresh, flavor bursting combinations, you won’t be disappointed. Right from the package you'll immediately sense the soothing aroma from #AmericasTea.
This year my husband and I are really making an effort toward living healthier. We’ve added two additional brands of Bigelow to our daily tea drinking experience. Bigelow offers me and option one step above my normal lemon and ginger blend, with a Lemon, Ginger Tea rich in probiotics. Additionally, we’ve been starting our morning with a simple Lemon Green Tea, ample in flavor and antioxidants.
As we do every week we headed to our local Walmart for our weekly grocery shopping, which of course includes a trip to the Bigelow Tea display. I’m always amazed at how fast this tea seems to fly off the self. I really had to dig to find that last box of ginger tea with added probiotics. Luckily, with so many varieties available, even if my usual choices are sold out I can find something equally good tasting and good for me to substitute for the week.

After stocking up on Bigelow, I enjoy taking some time to bake up a tasty treat to complement our tea fueled mornings, like Chocolate Chip "Biscuit" Scones.
What you need:
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tsps. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- ¼ cup Orange juice
- 5 tbsps. butter
- 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Coat baking sheet with non-stick spay
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Add slightly softened butter mixing by hand until the mixture becomes crumby in texture.
- Mix in orange juice to form dough.
- Make 2 inch balls flattening into a circle and bake until golden brown, about 10- 12 minutes; cool and serve.
We enjoyed these tasty treats with yet another Bigelow favorite, Vanilla Chai Tea!
Bigelow tea has really changed the way I think. I'm not normally one to ramble on or even listen to message about healing herbs etc. But, since I enjoy tea anyways it’s become an added bonus to learn about healing properties within certain blends. I suffer terrible migraines which ginger is said to be great for. And whether it’s all in my head or not, my headaches have certainly been less intense and less frequent since adding ginger to my diet. My husband has also been enjoying Bigelow Green Tea to aid in his weight loss and overall wellbeing.
Whatever your reason is for enjoying a cup of tea, Bigelow has a variety that will leave your palate happy!
