I was a Mom of all princes for about seven years, and then I got the news a princess was finally on her way. I love my boys with all my heart, but there was an immediate bond as soon as my eyes met my daughters for the first time and I knew a princess was just what she would be – even if in her Mommy's eyes only.
After years of trucks, bugs and dirt, I must admit it was nice to do flowers and frills. So nice, I began going a bit crazy with pink and Disney Princesses. Five years later my princess is growing into a very independent little lady, but her love and passion (and mine) for Disney Princesses has remained the same. The only thing that has changed over the past few years is my daughter’s passion for technology as well. So when we heard about the Disney Princess Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 APP, we immediately downloaded it to our iPad.
|The Royal Ball App 2.0 is available on iTunes and Google Play|
The Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 APP, has quickly become a favorite in our home as a place my daughter can experience the magic of the Disney Princess Royal Ball through interactive and augmented reality. Within the app she is able to create a princess dress and customize a carriage to take to the ball. She can also capture photos of her “in” the princess dress she creates and the carriage too! After she creates the perfect dress and customizes her carriage she can head off to the ball in style and end her journey dancing the night away.
After playing with the app we were alerted to special items and bonus content that could be unlocked via trigger points found at our local Walmart. Since we had already been planning a shopping trip, I thought we could make it a special day. Mommy and her princess could search for app triggers, while creating a holiday wish list and picking up a few items – you can check out our entire shopping trip on Google+.
As soon as we walked into Walmart my daughter noticed a new seasonal area packed with toys. It didn’t take long for her to spot the Fisher Price Little People Princess Palace which she has been asking for since she first saw the commercial.

With a rolled back price of just $39.88, it was the first item added to her wish list. Next we headed to the toy section where I was overwhelmed. We visit the toy section every time we shop just to see what’s new. Well this time we found ourselves in Disney Princess heaven. My daughter was asking to check out just about everything we saw – Mommy is in trouble this Christmas.
There were a few displays featuring the Mattel Cinderella Transforming Carriage along with the Mattel Cinderella MagiClip Castle. Since the re-release of the Cinderella movie, Cinderella is my daughters new favorite princess so of course these two sets also found their way onto her holiday wish list and I was again able to catch a roll back! Right now the MagiClip Castle is rolled back to $43.64.
I would be lying if I said this was all she put on her list. We found a lot of great products and prices. The Disney Princess items seemed to range from just $5 for a few figure sets she wanted, to about $250 for the 12V Disney FJ Cruiser that she almost jumped out of the cart for - lol. I see another Disney filled Christmas ahead of us mixed with a few baby dolls she was also rather fond of.
Now that her holiday wish list was complete we searched for a few trigger points for our App. We found that by scanning certain signage throughout Walmart and/or the Blu-ray/DVD cover to the movie we could create a little magic right in-store.

I finished up by grabbing a few essentials and dropped my daughter at home with Daddy, only to head back to Walmart and purchase my daughters favorites from her wish list. Stay tuned to learn more about these spectacular Disney items, sure to make the perfect holiday gift for any little princess on your list!
