Webkinz Friends Now Available For Your iPad - Review

A few weeks ago I shared with you our passion for Webkinz and an intro for those unfamiliar with the line.If you are a fan with a little tech lover on your hands, you’ll be pleased to hear Webkinz has a new iPad app, Webkinz Friends, out now!

For those of not familiar with Webkinz, Webkinz are adorable plush stuffed pets that include a tag which contains a code for you to go online with and register your pet, play games and buy items with Kinzcash. The iPad app takes this fun to a potable level of sorts. I joke with my husband telling him instead of a Farmville addict – like Mama- we are raising a little Webkinz addict. This app takes on some of the same appeal of familiar favorites like Farmville, except in this case you’re making a town for animated Webkinz pets, complete with crops and businesses too!

Within the App you can of course adopt Webkinz pets and design their homes with furniture and decorations from the KinzMart. Also you can harvest plants and supply your businesses as you build your own one-of-a-kind Kinzville. My daughter really enjoys having the ability to basically design her own town, along with the fact that she can visit friend’s towns.

We downloaded the app with ease and moved on to the tour checking out the features available. You start with a town consisting of Mrs. Birdy and Dr. Quack and the offer to adopt a pet. Next you will find a list of goals on the left of the screen. When you complete a goal it is checked off and you move on to your next goal or mission.

Our first goal was to build a home for our newly adopted pet. You get to choose from a variety of home styles and “break ground” on building it. From there you will continue to adopt, build, expand, harvest crops and much more. The only thing stopping you is your energy levels. If you run out of energy, you’ll have to build up more before continuing to build, harvest, etc.

What I thought was nice, was that in the iPad version of the game, you can still register you Webkinz, as well as register them in the online version. But you don't need a plush toy pet code to play Webkinz Friends,

Overall, it’s a fun a slightly addictive game, even for me. Is that weird? Webkinz Friends is available now for download on iTunes.

Do you have a Webkinz fan in the family? Have they played Webkinz Friends iPad app yet?

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Webkinz. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.”
