Starbucks Holiday Blend & Sam's Club Make for #Deliciouspairings #Cbias

Every morning I wake up and head straight for the kitchen. If I don’t have my coffee, you'll probably want to avoid me. Lunch time is more of the same only it’s been a tradition of sorts over the past few years that my husband brings me home my all-time favorite, a Caramel Frappuccino from Starbucks. With the holiday season upon us and the weather cooling down I have been looking to mix things up. It’s time to switch from my icy favorites to a warmer brew and it’s also that time of year we look to cut cost, which means no more afternoon Starbucks runs and more home brewing.

This week while at Sam’s Club we found the latest coffee from Starbucks perfect for the season, the Limited Edition Holiday Blend.

Holiday Blend Coffee

This festive brew is a blend of Latin American and Asia/Pacific coffees with a spicy edge and smooth, mellow depth. The next morning I brewed a pot before waking my husband. The Starbucks blends I have purchased in the past have been too bold for him, so I was curious what his initial reaction to the holiday blend would be - without knowing what I had brewed. I also honestly just wanted to catch a minute to myself and enjoy a cup.

Starbucks
My minute didn't last long. My daughter must have smelled the cinnamon in the air.
The holiday blend is noted as a bold dark roast, but my husband and I did fully agree. It was more of a bold smooth flavor, with a hint of spice. It went down easy and was a lot lighter than previous bold blends we have purchased. This was actually one of the first home brewed blends we both agreed upon. After waking up with our first cup we both headed back for a second cup, only this time we complimented the coffee with a delicious Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Roll, which I also purchase while at Sam's Club.

Cinnamon Rolls

The hint of spice blended with the sweet goodness of the cinnamon buns was exciting to the pallet, with an abundance of flavor and no bitter aftertaste. I couldn’t help but think what a great dessert coffee the holiday blend will make for those holidays meals. The holiday blend makes for delicious pairings with ginger, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange, and cloves; all spices that are a huge part of my dessert menu this Thanksgiving.

Coffee and Rolls

Since we find it more price efficient to buy in bulk a natural concern is keeping the coffee fresh. As I said, we are big coffee drinkers from morning to night, so I am not concerned with waste only keeping our coffee at peak freshness.  We learned the hard way freezing your coffee is not best; the constant change in temperature will destroy those fresh flavors. The best way to store your coffee is in an airtight container stored in a cool, dry, dark place.

Overall, we were very happy with the holiday blend, as a blend my husband and I could both agreed upon, which could be enjoyed heading to work in the morning right down to the dessert table at night. I'm interested in seeing how our holiday guest feel about this blend. I'm thinking it's going to be a big hit.

Are you a home brewer? Do you have a favorite blend? What does your blend make for delicious pairings with?

Keep up with all of Starbuck #DeliciousPairings by following @Starbucks on Twitter or checking out their Facebook page. And for all your bulk needs this holidays season @SamsClub and Sam's Club on Facebook has you covered!

Any Black Friday shoppers out there? Sam’s Club will open at 7am on Black Friday and will greet members with free Starbucks Holiday Blend coffee and Artisan Fresh pastries (while supplies last). Besides the fab deals, the free coffee and pastries are totally worth the trip, in my opinion.

I've got to check these out, for sure! I'm a home brewer by location (rural) not necessarily by choice (always hit the coffee shops when I'm in the city! LOL) Love sampling new flavors and the holiday blends are always the best.

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I've never tried Star-bucks coffee. I know...the only person on the planet. But that sweet moment with you and little girl sure makes a good sale :)

I really like Starbuck's coffee too. With all the new construction going on in the area I'm really hoping that we'll get a Sams Club soon.
