Relive a Christmas Story with Daisy Red Ryder #bb4me #Cbias (Give Away)

My oldest "prince" is almost 13! No, I don’t know where the time has gone, nor do I want to think about how I could possibly be old enough to have a 13 year old. Sigh. As sad as I am to see him grow, he is becoming quite the young man and yet quite difficult to shop for all at the same time. Toys are a thing of the past and video games leave him locked in his room for hours. This year it was my mission to find him something exciting, something not electronic, that he would love.

For us the holiday season hasn’t started until we’ve watch – my absolute favorite- A Christmas Story. And it was actually after watching this movie my son had a gift suggestion. He wanted a BB Gun. Of course, it was only natural for me to reply “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!” Keeping with the movie spirit and secretly I’ve been dying to say that line with purpose for years! A look of disappointment mixed with confusion ran across my sons face. “Is she kidding?” Maybe she’s serious?” He kept wondering while in the back of my mind I was thinking that would be the perfect gift!

Ralpie's Red Ryder BB Gun

After talking it over with my husband we agreed a BB gun it would be, as long as he makes it a point to go over ALL the necessary gun safety rules and teaches him a little something about shooting before my son ever takes the first shot. Now, I just had to figure out what kind of BB gun we were going to get him and of course where would we buy it. My husband jumped on the Daisy website to show me their official Red Ryder BB gun! I was so excited, it was just like the movie. I think as a joke I’m also going to wrap up some pink bunny PJ’s for my son and tell him he can’t shoot until he goes over all the safety rules AND puts on his galoshes.. hehe

Outdoor family fun, guns

My husband also informed me we could head right to Walmart to purchase the BB gun and accessories – who knew he was so full of useful info?! As soon as we had a minute to sneak away we headed off to Walmart; unfortunately that day was also Black Friday.

I am not a Black Friday shopper so things were getting a little overwhelming for me and the sporting goods section really seemed like a hot spot. I could barely make it down the aisle! In fact, there was a poor women all shopped out sitting on the shelving - funny to see a women waiting in sporting goods for her husband to get done shopping. At any rate, I spotted the Daisy Red Ryder immediately and at a great price. I did a quick look around, grabbed some safety glasses (we will not shoot our eye out) and BB’s and we were on our way.

When we got home I knew I had to wrap it up immediately. Since this is for my oldest guy, it also means it's for my sneakiest guy.I refuse to let him have a peek before Christmas.

You'll Shoot your eye out kid!
Red Ryder Carbine bb gun

I have to admit, I’m pretty excited and hope he loves his gift. My Father gave me his BB gun when I was about the same age and I was a pretty good shot – I hope I still am. I think this gift will make for a ton of outdoor family fun this year and can for you too!

Win It:

One Lucky Reader will win a Daisy Prize Pack just in time for the holidays.

Prize pack includes your choice of Daisy Red Ryder OR Pink Carbine Model as well as BB's and safety glasses!

OHBOY Crystal, we had a slingshot such as the PowerLine B52 Slingshot Model 8152 when my younger brothers were about 10 or 11. I love them! We of course bought same for our own sons too. They are wicked...FUN! I'd love to have one again. For real. I'm old but anyone can have fun shooting!

Thanks for hosting!
