Hoover WindTunnel - Keeping Your Home Clean For The Holidays ( Review & Give Away)

Yup, I’m back on the topic of my carpets again! Are you tired of hearing about them? Don’t worry, this time I have a holiday pick me up to go along with my carpet woes.

Hopefully some of you read last week how I got a carpet transformation of sorts having them professionally cleaned. Well, with the cleaning I was given some advice on how to keep them looking clean. One of those tips was to vacuum high traffic areas at least twice a week and other areas weekly. This made me laugh. Are they kidding? I vacuum daily sometimes twice a day, yet my vacuum is never a match for all the pet hair and things the kids leave behind.  I knew with freshly cleaned rugs, I would need to find a vacuum up to the task of keeping my rugs looking clean this holiday season and beyond.

Taking it out of the box I immediately noticed the weight and small size and starting getting nervous. While a small vacuum would be a welcome addition over big and bulky, my mind couldn’t seem to comprehend how a small and lightweight vacuum could pack the punch my floors needed. Well, let me tell you, the WindTunnel Air Bagless upright packed a punch and more cutting my normal cleaning time in half – no joke.

With a quick push forward I could feel the power within but when I pulled back to complete a pass, the real suction kicked in getting deep down to the “root” of my rugs.  And with the deep recline I could lay the vacuum flat to pass under the beds and tables.

Now I mentioned my rugs had just been professionally cleaned, plus, I had already vacuumed for the day before the WindTunnel arrived. Look how much sand (courtesy of my beach like yard) was pulled from my carpet.

The adjustable telescopic handle was like none other and I felt as if I could customize the vacuum to my level. The fact that the handle was also the hose was ingenious to me. Normally the hose always falls off or gets in the way when I am vacuuming. This hose is the handle; it detaches in one touch and is simply connected by the stair hose to the built-in hose. You have no idea how much a good hose attachment means to me especially for the pet hair on the couch and in the corners. The reach is also great! You get 8ft of hose, 30" extension wand and two accessory "brushes."

 The canister also features a handle for easy carrying and lightweight carting up and down stairs etc. when using the hose and attachments.

The filtration system features a rinsable filter and a high-quality filter made with HEPA media – HEPA media filters traps 99.97% of dirt, dust and pollens down to 0.3microns.

I was looking for the controls to adjust the height, but all I seemed to find was a button to shut of the roller for vacuuming hard food or my kitchen floors - the brush also automatically shuts down when the vacuum is in a upright position. I went back to the manual only to realize that this vacuum actually positions itself and this was certainly evident when I rolled from my carpet up to the area rugs – the suction was crazy!

Overall, this vacuum had provided me with the power I needed, in a size convenient to me. The last thing I need in a home with four kids is another bulky item taking up space.  The features were superior in my mind because of how easy they transitioned. I can vacuum the carpets and furniture in the same time it once took for me to vacuum just my living room.
