Piercings have been around for a very long
time and archaeological evidence has uncovered body piercings
in mummies which are over 5000 years old. Piercings are on trend, but they also
have a long history. Lips and tongue piercings belonged to African cultures and
American tribes years ago, but the Romans knew a thing or two about nipple
piercing. Yet, it’s only in the last twenty five years or so that piercings
have become really popular.
One of the prettiest piercings for girls
must be a discrete nose piercing with a small diamond which just catches the light but it all
depends on preference. One thing to consider is those wishing to find
employment may well want to think carefully about how many piercings they may
wish to have on public display. But a subtle stud can look extremely attractive
as it catches the light.
With the right stomach on show too, navel
piercing can look extremely attractive and is actually quite common amongst
young girls and often causes a second look, which after all, is what is
intended. A delicate bar with pretty stones can really accentuate tanned skin
too.

Back in 2005 a survey conducted on just
over 10000 people aged over 16 found that 10% were in possession of body
piercings in places other than ears and women made up 42% of this statistic.
The navel was actually the most popular site and it is interesting to note that
those with plenty of less traditional piercing were probably most likely to be
involved with counterculture too. Certainly lip, eyebrow and face piercings do
tend to express a desire to be different.
Tongue piercings have been considered very
attractive in girls and the quick flash of metal glinting momentarily is very
sexy and there are plenty of styles to choose from which will create exactly
the right impression for individual taste.
Certainly with the development of
hypoallergenic body piercing jewellery has helped to make piercings safer and
they can be used to celebrate a landmark event or birthday which is also a neat way for parents or guardians to become
involved and even supervise piercing sessions if they have any concerns or hope
to offer some advice without sounding critical.
Eyebrows have come into and fallen out of
fashion, although they can look quite pretty but need to be carefully sited and
the jewellery also carefully considered. Therefore the top five piercings for
girls are: ears, noses, tongues, navel and eyebrows.
So if you are thinking about a new piercing
and want to explore other options than traditional earlobes it’s worth checking
out just what options and jewellery are available and actually do some
research so that you can be satisfied your choice is the prettiest and most
attractive it can be.

Interesting suggestions! Thanks for sharing them with us.
I'll never forget the day that I found out that my daughter had her belly pierced, many have not found out then but it got infected and she got worried and had to tell me. I've only got my ears pierced. Maybe it's needles.
I love belly button piercings of course:) But I also do like the tiny little nose piercing. I am just too wimpy to do it!
i love to get my belly button done!
