E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL Now on Blu-Ray

In Celebration of Universal Studios’ 100th Anniversary, one of the most beloved films of all time comes to Blu-ray™ for the First Time Ever - E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL!  In celebration with the films 30th anniversary this unforgettable adventure debuts digitally remastered for a brilliant clarity and delivering six times the resolution of DVD, as well as all-new 7.1 surround sound.

First showing in 1982, E.T became the biggest blockbuster of the year, ranking #1 over 16 different weekends. Rereleased in 1985, I was just 4.5 years old and can actually remember viewing this classic tale of friendship for the first time, and being fascinated by an oddly cute alien. Every night I wished for my own “alien”, thinking of E.T more as an obtainable pet rather than extra-terrestrial. There was even a night I left out my own package of Reese’s Pieces, just hoping.

Today, my own daughter is just 5 years old and I could not wait to share E.T with her. It was bitter-sweet watching her observe E.T, not quite sure what to make of him and constantly questioning what exactly he was. By the end we were both rooting for Elliot to help his lost alien friend (E.T) find his way home, before the government catches him.Truly a classic film for everyone -young and old- that makes my heart smile and always brings a tear to my eye.

The Blu-ray™ Combo Pack is truly special, including the 1982 theatrical movie, an all-new interview with director Steven Spielberg, and “The E.T. Journals” featuring never-before-seen footage from the set of the film. The Blu-ray™ Combo Pack also includes UltraViolet™, a DVD and a Digital Copy of the film, offering fans a chance to relive the mystery, laughter and wonder of the iconic movie anytime, anywhere on the platform of their choice.

Loved E.T. when I was small, now my daughter is loving it! I even saved a toy figure from childhood that my kids now play with!

I loved ET when I was growing up. Then I talked to my daughter who was watching it and she was not impressed. Silly kids.

I love this movie. I still have my VHS copy of ET. I remember when it first came out, my niece was 5 and now I watch it with my grandson. He likes it, but he still doesn't understand why I cry at the end.
