Peppa Pig Review with DVD's, Books and More

Do your kids watch Peppa Pig? Peppa is a huge hit with my daughter and even my son, although he doesn’t like me to admit that. Peppa Pig was originally created in the UK, but, as of last year, the award-winning animated series for preschoolers, leaped across the pond to delight U.S. audiences on Nick Jr.

The main character is a pig named….. you guessed it, Peppa!  The program follows the daily activities of Peppa, her brother George, Mommy Pig and Daddy Pig. Episodes tend to feature everyday activities such as attending playgroup, going swimming, visiting their grandparents, going to the playground, riding bikes and of course splashing in mud puddles!
Peppa’s family and friends wear clothes, live in houses, in fact most of their activities are very much human like, but yet they still display some characteristics of the animals on which they are based. Peppa’s rabbit friends are the only ones I noticed who in fact don’t live in a house, but in a burrow.

Peppa and family deal with everyday issues and approach them with a laugh. Peppa’s lighthearted, laugh-out-loud approach to storytelling is truly enjoyable for both children and parents. It appeals to preschoolers as they deal a lot with problems and activities geared toward the preschool age range. The animation is simple but pleasant to watch and I have to admit that the families snorts even make me giggle. The situations are often realistic teaching valuable lesson in a very suitable way for children.  Peppa’s family is a lot like your typical family as Peppa will even get in a bit in trouble from time to time for everyday things like teasing her young brother.

For the biggest fans you can not only catch Peppa on Nick Jr but you can bring home the fun with Peppa Pig on DVD and even check out the exciting Peppa the Pig merchandise.

These creative playset available for children 3+ allow my daughter to bring some of her favorite Peppa the Pig moments to life. The adorable features of the tea set make it a must have for any Peppa fan. I can't even begin to tell you how many tea parties I have attended with my daughter and Peppa over the past week.

Since my daughter started Kindergarten this year reading has become an even bigger part of our daily routine - I love how much she loves to read!  When she seen the book Peppa Pig and The Lost Christmas list she squealed with joy - sort of like Peppa would do ;) This book combines her favorite pig with her favorite holiday and is on our almost daily reading list. She has even brought the book to school to share with her friends. I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo's but our plush Peppa has already been through the ringer. She goes everywhere my daughter goes. Just one look and her and you can tell, there isn't a day she goes unplayed with.

Overall, Peppa Pig  is very suitable for preschoolers with social lessons about kindness, loyalty, values of family, friendship, and fun, that run within each episode.

I have actually never heard of Peppa Pig before, but my kids are a bit older. I'll bet my nephews have though! Thanks for the introduction :)
