Ellio's Pizza, How I've Missed Thee... ~Give Away!~

I've made mention plenty of times, how important an after school snack is for my children. We have a pretty big gap between the time they come home and when dinner is prepared. And since the average lunch hour for my children in school, is around 10am, by 2pm they are walking through that door with their stomach growling.

From 2-3pm is homework time in our home, no questions asked.  My children understand I expect them to walk in from school and sit right down and the table; in our house it’s just better to get it out of the way ASAP. For me this means them grabbing a bag of chips to hold them over until dinner isn’t an option. We need something with substance, foods that will leave them full and fuel the brain, making homework less painful for them and I.

I try to always get a variety of quick after school snacks that they can just pop in the microwave or I am able to quickly place in the oven. Just one month into the new school year and the kids are already getting bored with the same old options. And then I heard the name of a product that hadn’t crossed my mind in years, Ellio’s Pizza!

Growing up in New York I lived off of Ellio’s. If Mom wasn’t going to order me out pizza every night then she had better keep the freezer stock with Ellio’s. And that she did. When we moved down south, I found a lot of my favorites were not available and just assumed the same to be true about Ellio’s, so when I found out that a store just 3 minutes from my home carried it, I was actually really excited!

One reason I was excited was because I was going to introduce one of my childhood favorites to my own children, and give them a fresh after school snack option I knew they would love. Ellio’s is pizza is amazing with end-to-end toppings, a one-of-a-kind sauce, wholesome fresh crust and 100% real cheese.

So what did my kids think? My oldest boys love the, what I call, select a size feature. Ellio’s has a unique square shape, perforate in three sections. You can make 3 pieces out of one large square or if you’re really hungry cook it as one. With Ellio’s I can select appropriate portion sizes and eliminate wasting of food. As far as taste goes, we had an all-around winner. Usually, at least one of my kids dislikes something or requests a different variety. Both Ellio's cheese pizza and the pepperoni variety when over big, and I knew it would. For me it was like a little taste into the past. It's strange how something as simple as a food can bring back so many memories.

Whether we are looking for a quick afternoon snack or even a kid friendly dinner, Ellio’s has five great varieties to choose from. It’s funny as a kid it of course didn’t matter to me what ingredients were in my favorite foods, but the Mom in me now, was also happy to learn Ellio’s contains no artificial flavors or preservatives and provides a good source of calcium - which my kids really need.
