Thrilled To Be a #LifeLock Brand Ambassador!

I have some exciting news I can't wait to share with you all. I am now a LifeLock Brand Ambassador! As a LifeLock Brand Ambassador, I will be learning and sharing with you lots of useful information on LifeLock and ways to protect your identity. If you haven’t guessed or are unfamiliar with LifeLock let me give you a quick overview.

LifeLock is the leader in identity theft protection working around the clock to ensure your personal information is secure. Unlike a credit monitoring service, LifeLock offers a variety of suites – including credit monitoring- that work together helping to protect you and your family from identity theft before it happens.

Why is identity theft a concern?

If identity thieves get a hold of your personal information, they could take out a mortgage, commit tax fraud or open credit cards under your name. That’s why the experts at LifeLock work diligently every minute of every day to ensure your personal information is secure. From early detection to remediation, LifeLock has the tools you need for peace of mind.

This is an issue that has touched a little too close to home in the past. When my report was pulled up so we could purchase a home, unbeknownst to me, there was a past due account from many years before hand. This delinquent account was for a service I never used, in a state I never lived! In fact, I wasn't even of age when the account was open to have legally been able to have said service. Thank goodness this was the only activity that was not my own, but it was very clear my info was already floating around out there, and from a young age.

My husband and I are much more cautious today and try to take the appropriate steps to keep our families information under wraps, but I know we still do better. I'm eager to learn more information about how to better protect my family now, as well as in the future, and share with you!

What tips do you already engage to keep yourself or family safe from identity theft?

I am a LifeLock Brand Ambassador and have been compensated for this post, however all opinions expressed are my own.

Oh, my word! I can only imagine how upset you must have been to find the fraudulent item on your credit report! We protect our passwords and pin numbers, try to be creative with them and shred documents. Honestly, we probably aren't doing nearly enough. You always think its the kind of thing that will happen to someone else! Thanks for the introduction! Going to check LifeLock out NOW!

I remember you talking about that. Ugh. I always try to be careful with passwords when I am using a public network.

Man! This scares me so much.....I hate that people suck so bad that our identities aren't even safe.

These days you have to be protected. I have seen this advertised on tv and my daughter has considered getting it. I think it's a great investment because identity theft is becoming a real issue

My husband had multiple unathorized charges taken out of his account last year, they started really small (like .10) and got significantly larger before we noticed... we've started checking our accounts on a daily basis to stay on top of things. Not fun!
