my-Ditto - The World's First Plug and Play Network Server 1TB Review

In this day and age we store everything on our computers: important documents, old tax returns, photos, videos, music and more. This is great, but most of us learned the hard way that backing up your files is a must. And then came the age of tablets, smartphones, multiple PC household and working between the home and office. At that point the call was put out for something more convenient, something that not only backed up your files but, a device that would let us have access to all our files, no manner what device we are using or where we are using it. Well, that call has been answered with the introduction of Dane-Elec's my-Ditto Network Attached Storage (NAS) Solution - The worlds first plug 'n play network server.

Plug and Play Netwrok

my-Ditto lets you back-up the family computer and safely store, organize and share the entire family's photos, videos, music, documents and files. Once everything is on the my-Ditto, it can be remotely accessed from any location using any computer, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android smartphone, Android tablet or Windows smartphone, or shared with friends and family across the world.

When I opened my, my-Ditto review unit I noticed 2 USB keys, one white and one silver. Along with a two-bay NAS, the first bay coming complete with a 1TB drive and the second empty, ready for you to add additional storage if you wish.

Getting started we plugged in the power source, connected an Ethernet cable from our router to the my-ditto and switched the unit over to on. I mentioned earlier my-Ditto comes with two (2GB) USB keys. The white key is the user key, which provides access to your user files and public files. The silver key is a master key which provides additional controls, and control over who can access a drive – if a key is lost you can also lock out that key.

My Ditto External Storage
