Keep those Back To School Germs Away with Wet Ones

Back to school can be an exciting time, but for me it brings with it a lot of dread, dread of germs that is. I’m very fortunate to have very healthy kids and since none of them attended day care, every time we visited our doctor for a well visit, he would remark on how my children have the smallest files in the place I was very blessed they stayed so healthy. Well that was all true at the time, and then they entered school.

Every year it’s more of the same, one week in and they all come down with something. Since my daughter has not had even the stomach bug in her five years, I fear what is to come once she is mixed into all those germs.

I try and teach my kids good hygiene starting with hand washing. It is common knowledge and a proven fact that 80 percent of all infectious
diseases are transmitted through hands, which is why it’s important to keep hands clean and germ free. I do realize though, washing your hands is not as easy to do in school, as children don’t always have access to the rest room. This particularly bothers me during lunch and snack hour. Hand sanitizer is great, but my kids are not allowed to physically keep it on them throughout the day or in their desk. I had to find a better option.

Wet Ones Wipes

Wet Ones Wipes are antibacterial wet wipes individual packaged or dispensed from a canister. They are a great option when soap and water are not available and have been proven just as effective as hand sanitizer at killing 99.99% of germs. With Wet Ones however, you get the added bonus of a quick clean up. Not only do they kill germs, but, they wipe away a sticky mess, can be used to wipe down desks, eating areas, and much more.

Throughout the school year you will find Wet Ones in my children’s snack bag, lunch bag, and back packs. Since my older boys no longer bring their lunch, I make sure they carry a full supply of Wet Ones in their book bags to be used at lunch-before and after their meal-and periodically throughout the day to help minimize the germs they are coming in contact with. Did you know, some viruses and bacteria can live at least two hours on surfaces like cafeteria tables, doorknobs or desks?! Just the thought is enough to make you sick – literally.

Wet Ones Travel Wipes

Since are best defense against germs is washing our hands often with soap and water, this back to school season don’t forget to teach your children the tips of proper hand washing, remind them to keep their hands away from their mouths and eyes, and when hand washing is not an option, think about Wet Ones as an effective alternative. This year not only will my kids get their typical supply or Wet Ones, but I will pick up a canister for each of their teachers as too.

Wipes and sanitizer is a must, especially for younger students! Those kids, bless them, put EVERYTHING in their mouths!

We go through hand sanitizer by the tons! Wet Wipes are great to keep in the car.

I have to pick up some of the individual packages. Right now, we have hand sanitizer in my grandsons lunch to make sure he cleans before eating. I like the individual packing but didn't know they had them. Thanks!

I wasn't aware they were as effective at killing germs. I don't like placing sanitizer in with my kids lunches in case the bottle opens. I like the sealed package option Wet Ones has.

We keep these in the diaper bag so I can freshen up between unexpected changes
