~ A review by Closer To Lucy
One of little girls’ issues related to her disability is her fragile skin which makes daily bathing and hair washing problematic. Unfortunately, for her she also carries the family curse of a tendency toward oily hair.....Blah!
Although dry shampoo seems a viable alternative to the conventional method of washing hair, they typically leave behind a a nasty white powdery residue....not cute at all, since we only do cute cute, well…you know, just scratch them off the list. The big "to do" in these spraypoo products was when they began to come in a variety of colors that matched your hair. This innovation seemed groundbreaking at the time - yeah except for the flaky colored powder all over your clothe, again the not cute factor….ewwwww. We’ve also tried caps and foams - we won’t even get into the ugly details on these diva deterrents.
So when another "spraypoo" came along I wasn’t bursting with excitement and truth be told I almost took a pass, but I felt a glimmer of hope while perusing through their website, Invisible Dry Spray Shampoo ….. hmm? Invisible sounds good and so does dry,it held a bit of promise.
The results? GK Dry Shampoo actually works!
The gist of it is that it goes on clear to clean and refreshes your hair - with no color and no powdery residue. Just spray in and brush out. I’m actually impressed and feel a nice sense of relief to one issue being resolved. It’s the smaller victories that win the battle, right? This one is going in her Feel Good Arsenal!
To add to my delight GkHair also has come out with a new line of hairsprays. If you live in the south or have ever visited anyplace humid…..you know what the wet air can do to wreak havoc on even the best hair day. Add my fine limp hair to the mix and it ain’t pretty.
A fast drying hairspray with exceptional hold is the only solution for this limp head of hair. I have a regular brand that does a pretty good job of warding of the humidity but it takes too long to dry and usually ends up weighing my locks down.Since giving the new line of Gkhair sprays a whirl I will never go back to sticky-no-hold sprays again.
I started out with the light hold spray first. On days when I’m not ripping and running I usually just put in a few curls, brush and go - nothing too heavy needed. I was surprised at well the light hold held up. Typically, when I think of light hold, I think of, well, a light hold. The hold in the lighter variety with stands even the southern outdoor summer sauna. After trying the light, I was eager to see how the strong hold held up to a day of running in the steamy outdoors.
So happy to say that on my heaviest day of outdoor rip and run, the strong hold beat the wet heat! No hair check required, I seriously won’t go back to anything else, GkHair is staying in my arsenal!
Win It: Wanna see for yourself? The great hair day peeps at GKhair have generously offered one lucky reader a spray stock of their own dry shampoo and light hold hairspray!
