I recently shared with you that I have quite a passion for dolls. Growing up my Grandmother was a huge collector of baby dolls to play and collect. The halls of her home where lined with curio cabinets full with such beauty. There were dolls, that reminded her of each of her grandchildren, dolls from places she had been and dolls that were just plain stunning. I had such a fascination with each one of them, that she quickly started me on my very own collection. In fact, I still have that very first doll I was given. It's one of the few I still have from my younger days.
Since the birth of my children, my collection has slowed and I've had a few "toddler casualties" that were heartbreaking. Like most little girls, I loved play dolls, and never really grew out of it. I only upgraded to collectible varieties. I love to display them and I love the fact I have something to share with my daughter as well as my own grandchildren in the future.
My husband collects sport memorabilia and collectibles of all kinds. I too am a sports fan so I love when I can find a doll that suits us both. My Father-in-law is a big Dallas Cowboys fan, my husband is a Giants fan. If your a sports fan then you can imagine as a Giants fan, he was not thrilled when his father purchased him a Dallas doll. But honestly, it was purchased because of how much it truly resembled my oldest son as a baby.
I'm thinking this year for his birthday I will make it up to him by getting him this adorable NY Giants doll, that I just adore!
I'm sure you have seen this little guy floating around the web. I have been dying to purchase him.
I'm not sure if I would call my collecting a hobby or a passion, but do you have any hobbies and or passions? I would love to hear them.
