What are Your Shoes?

Of all the things that you wear in a daily basis, the largest and most worthwhile investment that you can buy are your shoes. It is the shoe that will take you to places. More importantly, these set of gears are the most functional among all things that you wear. But before buying your shoes, there are many things that you should consider to get the optimum shoes for you. Different Shoes have different functions, and with these functions are different prices so your budget should also be a consideration together with the function. To help you choose what kind of shoe suits you best, here are some quick guides regarding different shoe types.

Dress Shoes
These kinds of shoes are specifically made for their looks. In terms of function, it does not offer much durability or comfort. Some, as a matter of fact are a pain to wear. Nevertheless these shoes are must haves if you are after fashion and into attending formal events. For men, dress shoes are worn almost exclusively for office attire or formal occasions. For women, however, dress shoes can be worn as often as possible and goes perfectly with a (you guessed it) dress. Examples of dress shoes are stilletto heels for women and leather bluchers for men.

Casual Shoes
Like the dress shoes, casual shoes are also meant for beauty. However, since they are also meant to be worn everyday, casual shoes are also balanced with comfort and durability. Casual shoes can either be made by leather, rubber, or cloth. It can be made to look semi formal or semi athletic. Though casual shoes are hard to indicate, they are generally characterised by a wider build, (for semi formal shoes) and lower cut and performance (for semi athletic shoes). The shoe brand will often indicate if a shoe is casual or not. One good example of casual shoes are Sketchers shoes and sneakers in general.

Dance Shoes
Dance shoes are not made for their looks, however, some can still look good such as the ballroom shoes or tap shoes. These kinds of shoes are mainly build for performance, durability, and flexibility. And because they are specifically made for dancing, these shoes often have thin soles that are specifically made for the dance floor. Walking or running on a pavement with these shoes on can feel awkward and uncomfortable. Ballet shoes are perfect examples of pure dance shoes.

Athletic Shoes
Athletic shoes are one of the most popular kinds of shoes nowadays; perhaps second only to casual shoes. and though these shoes are made purely for performance, they attract a lot of people as they are often comfortable and stylish. Some can even be worn everyday like casual shoes. Basketball shoes and tennis shoes are perfect examples. Nike and Adidas make a variety of athletic shoes that can range from basketball shoes, to boxing shoes.

Work Shoes
These shoes cannot be topped in terms of durability. Some can even last for more than ten years. These shoes are often characterized by their heavy-duty soles, thick leather exterior, and steel toes. Many high end work shoes nowadays even feature water proofing, anti-bacterial insole, and electricity proof exterior which are great to have for safety purposes.

Having great shoes can be rewarding. However, these babies can cost a lot. If you are tight on budget, I suggest using Sears coupon codes to get big discounts.

I have a very comfortable pair of flip flops that are made by Ocean Pacific, they are my go to shoes. I absolutely love them. I have had them for 5 years, and they still wear great.

Since having my back surgery shoes aren't as fun for me anymore :(
Last month I finally went through and got rid of all the shoes that are off limits to me....I parted with 43 pair of my beloved beauties.
Now I'm all about flip flops and flats.

I love comfortable shoes! I have a pair of black dress shoes from Clarks that I've worn for too long and need to replace them, but I love them so much!

I'm always wearing flip flops except when I'm at work. It's gotten to the point other shoes are uncomfortable! Think I need to break my flip flop habit...

I am all for comfortable shoes. If it is not comfy I will not wear them and with kids around I am definitely wearing casual shoes and sneakers. If I want to get dolled up I will wear dress shoes and bring an extra pair of casual shoes in my hand bag just incase. LOL Thanks for sharing- great review.

I love shoes but my feet are particular and I have a difficult time finding shoes. You won't find any heels in my closet.

I have to get comfortable shoes, I have neuropathy in my feet, so it's real easy to get the wrong shoe and then my feet swell like crazy

I love flats that do not cause my back to hurt. There are some beautiful shoes that will conform to what people need for their health needs.
