Pure Leaf Iced Tea is All Natural - Plus Great Recipes

Will you be hosting a part for the Kentucky Derby this Saturday, May 5th? Why not serve up some exciting refreshments with Pure Leaf Iced Tea.
Pure Leaf Iced Tea has a crisp fresh brewed taste with only all natural ingredients, no preservatives and no high-fructose corn syrup. I love iced tea, but to be honest, I usually prefer the more "processed" varieties of bottle Iced Tea. The Pure Leaf lemon was great! I'm already truly addicted, the only issue I'm having is finding it my grocery store - I might have to suggested a larger stock!

Pure Leaf is excited to share this great tasting fresh brewed flavor of Tea and has some great recipes just perfect for the Kentucky Derby parties going on all over. How about you get the party started with a little Derby day tea-lep

Derby Day Tea Recipe

DERBY DAY TEA-LEP
Servings: 1
Prep Time: 5 minutes
3 ounces Pure Leaf Sweetened Iced Tea
3 lemon slices

6 large mint leaves

In highball glass, add mint and then crush. Add two lemon slices and fill glass with ice, Pure Leaf Sweetened Iced Tea. Garnish with one lemon slice.
Tip: For a special twist, add 1 ounce Kentucky bourbon.

The Women will just love a Green Tea Cosmo - I know I did!

Green Tea Cosmo

GREEN TEA COSMO
Servings: 1
Prep Time: 5 minutes
3 ounces Pure Leaf Green Tea with Honey
1 ounce orange juice
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce cranberry juice cocktail

In shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients. Shake well, then strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish, if desired, with lime peel.
Tip: For a special twist, substitute 1 ounce vodka for 1 ounce orange juice.

And if it's a warm day try the Fruit-Tea Smoothies. They are a hit with both kids and adults!

FRUIT-TEA SMOOTHIES
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
16 ounces Pure Leaf Iced Tea with Lemon or Pure Leaf Unsweetened Iced Tea, chilled
2 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup fat free vanilla ice cream
1 tablespoon sugar

In blender, process all ingredients until smooth. Serve immediately in tall glasses and garnish, if desired, with fresh strawberries.

As you can see, Pure Leaf Iced Tea is wonderful either straight from the bottle or as a mixer for a special twist on tea. You can even use it in some of your favorite dishes. This recipe is on our menu next week. We call my middle son pork chop, simply for his LOVE of pork chops

TEA-MARINATED PORK CHOPS
Developed in collaboration with The Feisty Foodie
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Marinate Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 15 minutes
16 ounces Pure Leaf Unsweetened Black Tea, divided
4 boneless pork chops (about 3/4-inch thick)
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, divided
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Pour 1 cup Pure Leaf™ Unsweetened Black Tea over pork chops in large resealable plastic bag. Close bag and marinate in refrigerator at least 1 hour.

Remove chops from marinade, discarding marinade. Season chops with 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Melt 1 tablespoon margarine in 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and brown chops. Remove chops; set aside.

Melt remaining 1 tablespoon margarine in same skillet, then stir in flour until blended. Slowly stir in remaining 1 cup Tea and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook, stirring frequently, 1 minute or until sauce is thickened. Reduce heat to low, then return chops to skillet. Cook, turning once, 3 minutes or until chops are done. Serve chops with sauce and garnish, if desired, with chopped parsley.

Don't forget when you out shopping to keep an eye out for the new Pure Leaf square bottles and new packaging. Not only does Pure Leaf taste great, but their bottles are now environmentally friendly, made of PET plastic which is 100% recyclable! The new square bottles (vs. round) fit together in a condensed way, creating high pallet efficiency, which equates to more bottles, lighter loads and less fuel used in transport - no more glass for Lipton Pure Leaf.

So are you an ice tea lover? What ways could you incorporate Pure Tea Iced Tea into your drink or dinner recipes?
