Rubbermaid's new recycling bin line has a really great concept providing different bins to suit the needs of your household. We were sent the 2-in-1 recycling bin.
This two-unit bin allows you to either contain trash and recyclables all in one location or sort recyclables. The top portion is where we gather are plastics. It is equipped with a fold away handle making it easy to pick up and carry outside, to dump into the pickup bin. The bottom portion can be used for recyclables as well or simply for trash. We use it for trash
The lower half tilts outward and has a lock system to hold your trash bag into place. This is a feature I appreciate because my kids are forever knocking the bag down and then piling the trash on top, making for one messy cleanup for Mom! If you prefer to use the bottom half for recyclables as well, you can use the locking system as handles making this bin also easy to carry outside for dumping. Either way both the top and bottom portions close so you never have to see the trash and the smells are locked away inside.
It's so nice to have my counter space back and a sleek looking bin that does double the work!
