The HALO Safe Sleep Crib Set - Helping To Keep Babies Safe

SIDS was always a cause of much worry and concern with my children. Such a scary thought, that something could so suddenly take away your child. SIDS really hit home for me when my sons godmother lost her son at just 3 months old. At that point I really started paying even more attention to SIDS prevention and was introduced to HALO.
HALO Innovations, Inc. is dedicated to creating a healthier and safer sleeping environment for adults and children. Founder William Schmid began researching sleeping environments after he and his wife lost a daughter to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 1991. Since 1994, he and his company have worked to develop products such as the original HALO® SleepSack® wearable blanket that encourage healthier and safer sleeping as well as bring peace of mind to parents.
Since then HALO has branched out with multiple "safe" products for infants and children. As many of you Mom's already know, crib bumpers have become a no-no for crib use. Originally bumpers were created to protect your babies head from getting stuck in between the slats of the crib. New studies however, have found more deaths and injuries with the use of crib bumpers and the American Academy of Pediatrics now saying “no” to crib bumpers.

So what makes a crib safe?

  • Back sleeping
  • Sleep sacks
  • No pillows
  • No blankets
  • No bumpers
  • No stuffed animals

  • It's important to get the word out as many companies are still selling crib bumpers, which I don't understand. Yes, they are cute, but it didn't take long after my first child for me to realize on my own, that bumpers were no good - especially the first time I awoke to find my son all tangled up in his! HALO also recognizes this and heard the warning of the American Academy of Pediatrics. With this HALO created the "HALO SleepSack 5-Piece Bumper-Free Crib Set"

This bumper free set includes HALO SleepSack Wearable Blanket, SleepSack Swaddle, both in 100% cotton; two coordinating crib sheets in soft jersey cotton along with a matching crib skirt! The HALO Safe Sleep Crib Set can be found in colors and designs for girls, boys, and gender neutral designs.

Buy It: You can purchase the HALO Safe Sleep Crib Set from Amazon.com or at Babies R Us for about $79.99. A fantastic price compared with most crib sets.

Keep up with HALO on Facebook, Twitter and of course Pinterest

I received  the above mentioned product(s) for free through the above company or PR agency for review purpose and to facilitate my review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Love this! What a great shower gift! We've used halo sleep sacks for both of our boys and the sleep swaddle is my favorite shower gift to give.

I'm loving the idea of bumper free bed sets! We didn't use our bumper anyway. And it's a super cute design

So very sorry for your friend's loss. There's so much for parents to think about, it's overwhelming. I had no idea you weren't supposed to use blankets (I don't have kids yet so don't worry!) - these sleep sacks make even more sense to me now that I know that.

This seems like a great product. I loved the HALO Sleepsack so this should be just as good. This would make a great baby shower present as well.
