Don't Feel Bad Treating Yourself!

There is a lot about me that has changed over the years but one thing that has stay the same is my style. I just can't give up my clothing and shoes. I love, love, love to shop - for clothes that is. There is something about a new outfit that makes you feel really good bout yourself.

I don't care where I am, I can find at least a shirt I like, if not more. There is one store in particular I have a true passion for and that is Macy's. Macy's is like a one shop stop for me because I can pick up my favorite fragrance, skin care, designer brands, and Shoes and heels from Jessica Simpson!  Yes, as much as I love clothes my real weakness is for shoes and while I will admit after four kids I don't have many places to wear heals, it doesn't mean I wouldn't wear them to my local grocer just for the heck of it..lol

Anyone want to let my husband know  I want these for Mother's Day?
Some people think it's crazy that I will get all dressed to run up to the store, but I think it's important for a women to feel good about herself, whether it be in sweats or heels. Don't get me wrong, there are still days my sweats are my best friend and then there are days were I want a little pazazz, and if the only way to achieve that, it's to wear a new outfit to grab a carton of milk, who says I can't do that?

Don't ever lose yourself in being a Mom or wife. There is no reason we can't take at least 15 minutes to ourselves and get dressed up even to hang out home. Trust me you'll feel a whole new confidence about yourself. There are times I feel guilty about spending money on a new pair of shoes that I really don't need, or that pair of jeans I just have to have. Once in awhile, however,  we all need not only sometime to ourselves, but we need a little pick me up - even if it's a material item. And ease that guilt by using Macy's coupons. That extra savings will make you feel better about your purchase, trust me.

It's almost Mother's Day go treat yourself whether your a Mom or not!

As a mom I find myself putting everyone first but me. Thanks for reminding me to treat myself too.

I agree. I feel some times that I want to get dressed up just to go to the store. But it makes me feel good. Sometimes I forget that it is ok to treat myself. I think I see a new pair of shoes in my future. :)

Can you say this again very loud from the rooftop for me please? The kids get less of Mom when she doesn't take care of herself. She's more tense, less attentive, and just less fun to be around. The only thing I disagree with in this post is "every once in a while." Make it at least weekly and have more you to give to your children. Let's spread the word!

Hi :)

First off I must say I love your blog, the template is absolutely beautiful !!

As far as your blog, I too can see how you feel though my weakness is target.. which is my one stop shopping, from make-up, to clothes, grocery's and much more :)

I do tend to spoil myself from time to time, and I get comments from my children like "You don't buy me anything? " which of course is not true.. but in their little eye's it is :)

When you get the chance please come over to my blogs at http://www.theemtmommy.com & http://www.crystalbluebows.com

It's so hard to treat myself as a single mom when there are so many other needs we have. I try to find something little, but it doesn't always cut it. LOL I'm happy to pass on the message to your hubs about the shoes. =)

I think it is a hard habit for mothers to break. We feel like it is our jobs to care for others but neglect ourselves. I try to remember that at least 2 times a year to treat myself. Shoes are also one of my weaknesses but I am trying to use the ones I have and save the spoiling for massages!

This Mom is perpetually battling Mom Martyr syndrome. My big treat to myself used to be a luxurious bath, but adventure of getting to the second floor lately (yes - just call me ol' hop a long) has put a temp hold on that.

Once I get to my goal weight I will be glad to treat myself again :)

I dress for the store too.
I'd do it more often if I had those shoes :)

You are so spot on! I used to feel bad/guilty anytime I treated myself to any conceivable indulgence or even did something just for myself.

While most of us feel we are only entitled to reward ourselves when we make some huge accomplishment. I think it's good to celebrate yourself for little things too - and sometimes even just BECAUSE!
