I think it’s safe to say if you’re a reader of mine, you know what a passion I have for Mohawk Home. Not only do they have some of the best quality area rugs, but, they have brought new life into my home. When we bought this home it was almost new being built just 4 years before hand and not much needed work, except the flooring - yuck! Not only did I not like the tile work, but there was LIGHT beige carpet throughout. You can imagine that with two dogs and four kids anything short of black carpet was not going to stay pretty for long and it did not. It felt like only weeks before the dogs tracked in mud, the kids to spilt juice and I found myself with "spotted" light beige carpet. It wasn’t pretty. It got to the point I was embarrassed to invite anyone over.
We plan on doing wood throughout and just got finish replacing the kitchen floor, but it looks as if it will be another year before I can make my dreams of all wood a reality. This is how I first became acquainted with Mohawk Home.
I not only wanted to add a splash to different rooms in the house, I wanted to cover those nasty carpet stains, but if I was going to go with area rugs, I needed rugs of quality that could stand up to the heavy traffic in my home. After the addition of our first Mohawk rug to our living room I was in love. This rug was everything I was looking for. It stood up to the stains, stood up to those muddy paw prints, and best of all, it pull my living room together by adding a focal point and hiding the existing stains beneath it!
Eventually we replaced the furniture in the living room and I was ready for a bit more “pop” in a rug. The Mohawk Home 8' x 11' Brown Patton Area Rug was the perfect addition to my new living room set and it was half the price the furniture store was asking for a similar rug. I also was more confident knowing the quality of rug I was getting by choosing to go with a Mohawk Home rug, once again.
So here we are, I finally decided to move forward with my plans to convert the garage into a play room and once again found myself struggling over what to do about the flooring...and then it hit me! Mohawk Home area rugs come in a variety of styles, sizes, and textures, certainly I could find a big enough rug, with the right texture to place down in the garage to provide comfort for the kids and just a bit of style. However, some of you might know we have had an addition to the family in the form of puppies!! Those puppies currently spend a majority of their day in the garage and have put a huge halt on my conversion of the garage.
At any rate, here is our dens new look with the Mohawk Home Select Strata Aqua Fusion 8' x 10'
With all the beauty and character of an abstract painting, this pretty rug will brighten any room. The soft nylon fibers feel great underfoot. It's durable and easy to care for, so you can even use this rug in a family room or anywhere in your home you have high traffic.
Of course as with all Mohawk Home products this rug was made right here in the U.S.A. Mohawk rugs are also usually made to be spot cleaned only depending on the fibers. This has never been an issue even with the tougher stains. Although, I occasionally admit to using my spot bot for quick cleanups, all my rugs look just a beautiful as the day they were put down.
