What Do You Look For In Outdoor Furniture?

My favorite season is upon us - spring! Not yet so hot that I don’t want to leave the comfort of my AC, and definitely not too cold to spend some quiet time out on the porch enjoying nature around me.

Unfortunately, we dumped my patio furniture about a year ago and haven’t came across anything we loved, to replace it with. I would have liked to already have had everything in order from my garden and lawn maintenance, to outdoor furniture from Bridgman before April… However, I just haven’t have the time.

I’ve tried to set aside the time next weekend to shop for a new set for the patio and hopefully squeeze in some planting time for my flower garden. I really wish I was more creative with my landscaping though. I absolutely love this luxury garden furniture, but think it would probably look silly on my patio with all the dirt patches surrounding it from the dogs.

I guess I will have to settle for something either a bit more laid back in style or get someone who knows what they are doing to bring the beauty back into my yard.  I always wanted the outdoor escape; flowers and beautiful blooming trees, nice thick green grass, flowing pool and that perfect outdoor furniture for entertaining. Maybe, in a few years when the kids are grown, for now I might just have to learn to live with toys scattered about and holes being dug all around me. I also have to think a little less about what I want In outdoor furniture and more about a set that can with stand the kids and dog - Yes, my dog actually sits in a chair on the porch!

Don’t get me wrong I love seeing the kids enjoy themselves outside and actually wish they would get out there more often, but another part of me can’t wait to have nice things again -this includes my grass by the way ;-)

Do you have any suggestions on what holds up better against the elements and kids!?! I would love Rattan over a metal set but I'm just not sure which would be better.

I have metal with cushions that have washable covers. This is the easiest for me. I made an extra set of covers so I can change them to make it have a different look if I want.

Our patio area is the one area that I wish I had a clue...it's just a slab without inspiration. I'll be curious to see what you come up with.

this is beautiful, but I would think it would that it would take a lot of care to keep it looking so nice, but of course he get what you pay for

2 x 4 furniture actually LOL, you build it, buy the cushions for it and you stain it the color you want (but with the cushions make sure you bring them inside when not using them as the elements are hard on them, like sun/rain and dirt, and if you buy the stuff thats more like a plastic then a cloth, you might stick to it (its sorta like a plastic)

We have plastic and cushions- it cleans easily and we store the cushions in the winter.

We have the hard plastic chairs, but also have metal white chairs and table w/glass top. They hold up pretty good, we leave them out all 12 months, and clean real good in spring. We had a wood table, It lasted about 13 years before we needed to paint.
Good Luck
