NuWave Oven Review & Giveaway

Entry #4078C.A.

I might be the absolute worst when it comes to remembering to take something out of the freezer for dinner. You would think since I cook daily this would be a no-brainer, but nope, not for me. At least once a week my husband walks through the door from work absolutely starving, and there I am looking at him like it might be a little while, I forgot to defrost the chicken.  Another issue I face is the fact I hate using the oven, it just makes my home too hot! So, I typically pan fry or sauté my meats on the stove. This is not only time consuming but requires my full attention. With three kids who arrive home from school shortly before meal time this creates quite a stressful situation for me. Then I heard about the NuWave Oven.

The NuWave Oven can cook up to a 10 lb turkey or a 8 lb ham. It will cook up to 50% faster and uses up to 85% less energy than your conventional oven. There is no pre-heating required and it cooks fresh or frozen meats in half the time!  That’s right, if I’m ever in a pinch for a meal, no problem. I can take my meal straight from the freezer, to my NuWave, to the dinner table, without sacrificing flavor or time. The NuWave Oven does this using Triple Combo Cooking Power to cook foods from the inside and outside at the same time from its frozen state. Foods cooked in the NuWave Oven are healthier, too. There are no additional fats or oils required, foods cook quickly and evenly, sealing the natural juices and removing more unwanted fats.

When my NuWave Oven Pro and the Extender Ring Kit arrived I was really excited to see if it could do everything I had read about. The Nuvave Oven Pro featured; Triple Combo Cooking Power (Conduction, Convection, Infrared) along with a reheat function for leftover foods. It can Broil, Roast, Grill, Bake, Barbecue, Steam, Dehydrate and even Air-Fry! The Extender Ring Kit included; a 3" extender ring,  10" non stick baking pan and  2" cooking rack. If your planning on a big meal the extender ring is the perfect accessory for you, as it increases the oven capacity up to 50% - holding a 14 lb turkey or 16lb chicken. The extra rack is great for layering foods - think veggies on the top and chicken breast on the bottom.

So for my first use of the NuWave I went with a simple whole chicken with veggies. I love a nice roasted chicken but I tend to make it too dry plus I hate having my oven running for 3+ hours heating up my home.

I seasoned my chickenon both sides, rubbed it down with a little oil and placed it on my 1” rack. I then check my time chart that was included with the oven for the recommended cook time and set the time for  30 minutes ( 15mins per lb) – When my 30 minutes were up a beeping noise alerted me. I added my veggies flipped my bird and set it for an additional 30 minutes.

In the mean time I was able to help my kids with homework, straighten up etc. When it was done I had a beautifully brown skin and moist delicious middle in only an hour! Even better my veggies for a side dish were also already cooked for me.

We have been having so much fun experimenting with different meats and recipes in our NuWave Oven. I mean you can cook everything in here from seafood to eggs! Oh, and cleanup is a breeze especially since it all fits in my dishwasher – of course the top heating element is NOT dishwasher safe. Even when I decide to hand wash, the 12” drip pan is non–stick so it washed with ease. I really can’t say enough good things about the NuWave Oven. You just have to try it out.

Buy It: Purchase the NuWave Oven Pro for $99.99 and the Extender Kit for 34.95 @ Nuwaveoven.com

You can keep up with NuWave via Twitter as well as Facebook

Win It: One lucky reader will win the NuWave Pro Oven!
