It's The End Of The World As We Know It......

And I feel fine! OK, all kidding aside I’m not sure I can handle a whole year of listening to people talk about the end of the world. Now granted, I do not think the world will be ending this December , if I did I might find all the chatter tolerable. Truth be told though, I guess secretly I will feel some relief when December 22nd rolls around. This may be because I have been watching way too many history shows on “what if” or preparing for “the end”.

Have you seen these shows? These people do have a way of getting into your mind...Won’t I feel dumb if I didn’t stock up on my freeze dried foods from PrepareWise and the sun comes crashing down.  I’ll feel even worse not having built my own secret bunker. Do you think there is still time to get in on the one being built in California? Come on, you know the one I’m talking about. I’m trying to keep it classy here. Hey, it’s said to have a stocked bar! I'm sure I can overlook anything else going on around me, if, I can have a few drinks.

OK, so I like to joke and don’t believe that we will know when the end of days will come – only one man ( or women) knows that. However, that doesn’t mean becoming a Mom hasn’t made me worry about crazy stuff like this. Shoot, if I watch a few more Zombie movies, I might even start stock piling in case of that dreaded Zombie Apocalypse.

Is it just me, or did the worry level go up a billion times the minute you became a parent? Who would have thought I would be sitting here writing about my not so real fear or the end of the world??? What that means is even though I don’t believe it, the seed has been planted and now I have to play out the what if’s in my own head. I have to keep my family safe, right? Just in case...

It's not like I am going to be spending my life savings this year, but I might pick up some hard hats and an extra gallon of water or two!  I mean what kind of Mom would I be if I was totally unprepared….. ;-)

Honestly though, living in a area threatened by hurricanes it wouldn't  hurt to have a safe area, generator and even some freeze dried food. Then my family would truly be prepared for a real emergency. And in the back of my mind, I'd know I was better prepared in case the Zombies come knocking! lol

Now, with that said I really think I should take the T.V out of my room or start watching more ABC family!

Preparedness is a smart move, especially if you live in an area that is prone.

Having said that...NO ONE knows when the last days of earth are except the creator. Stop worrying, it'll make you crazy/ier :)

Oh, please. You know I am preparing for a Zombie invasion any day now. :) I totally agree with Carmen, no need to worry about that.

You have put my exact thoughts into words. And like you said if it weren't for being a parent I don't know that I would give any of it a second thought

I think a lot about it too, even though I know that my creator (God) is the only one that knows when the end of time will come. *Sigh* It's so hard not to worry, like you said, with all the 'end of times' programs you see on tv.
