Learning Resources Letter Box Activity Set Review & Giveaway

I absolutely adore Learning Resources, not only is it a site I think every Teacher should have bookmarked but it's one of my favorite place to shop for eductatinal fun, for my own children. I even check there first if my children are struggling with a certain subject, for fun learning tools.

For the next three months I will be introducing you to some of their newer products, I thought would fit well into my household. Here is where my confession comes into play,  I don't do preschool or Pre-K - whatever you want to call it. I never went, my family members didn't go, so it only seemed natural to me to keep my own children home until Kindergarten. Times have changed though and this has set my children back, since 99% of their Kindergarten class did have some form of schooling prior. Since my daughter will be heading to Kindergarten next year we have been working hard getting her up to the same level.

When I came across the Letter Box Activity Set at Learning Resources, I knew it would be perfect for reinforcing her letters and sounds.

The Letter Box Activity Set is shape like a mail box and can either be hung or attached by it's magnetic strips on the back of the "box". The center slot is open so when placed over a whiteboard you can write. Included in the set are 104 double side alphabet cards with real life photos ,13 double sided letter cards and 8 blanks. There is a slot toward the top, to hold a letter card and larger clear slots toward the bottom for alphabet cards. Additionally, there is a large storage pocket behind the box for the extra cards your not working with.

We have been going over a letter a day, learning to write it, the sound it makes and then I give her three pictures, two of which have the correct beginning sound and one that doesn't. We then play a game of "one of these things doesn't belong". It's fun and of course highly educational. So far this has been an wonderful addition to our daily lesson and an product I would highly recommend.

Buy It: Purchase the Letter Box Activity Set for $34.99 through http://www.learningresources.com

Win It: One lucky reader will win a Letter Box Activity Set of their own!

I like the Crocodile Hop™ Floor Game. It looks like fun!
I made up a game that I play with my 2 little granddaughters. There are imaginary crocodiles swimming around in the swamp (our living room floor) and when I start the music these music loving crocs surface and my 2 little granddaughters have to quickly get up to safer ground (our sofa or recliner chair). When I stop the music these imaginary crocs go underwater & swim away. The squeals & giggles are so funny and even their Grandpa (my hubby) and their parents join in my game. :-)
