Holiday Guide - World Vision a Gift From The Heart ( w/ Giveaway)

Christmas is the season of giving. With World Vision you can give a gift that keeps on giving. When your shopping for that special something this year why not check out the World Vision Catalog and make it a special gift that really gives.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. When you shop the World Vision Catalog this holiday season you get choose from over 100 unique gifts. The costs of the "gift" will go to help a family in need. You can also choose a gift to donate in honor of someone special and select a free card.

When choosing a gift to donate you can can actually choose from live animals. Why choose a live animal to donate? Well animals are truly  the gift that keeps giving. Take 5 ducks for example. For the low donation cost of just $30.00 hungry families can benefit from the protein rich eggs these ducks produce. Last year a group of us choose to donate a goat from World Vision. For $100 you can provide not only a goat but 2 chickens to hungry families providing families with milk, cheese and more.  To us this may seem minuscule but unfortunately too many families through out the world live in poverty and go hungry. To them these are gifts of joy, hope and a way to nourish their family.

If you would prefer a more traditional route, you can purchase a gift from the catalog. A gift that you can pass on to someone else this holiday, while the cost of the gift goes to families in need. Take these beautiful holiday ornaments World Vision was gracious enough to send to my own family this season.

These ornaments are made from recycled materials by a group of Kenyan artisans reclaiming their own lives from poverty. There are at least 100 gift to choose from ranging in donation price of $25 to over $300. You also have the option of choosing the gift of clean water, medical care,  specifically helping children of the U.S.A and so much more.

Please won't you share a gift with the world this holiday season and consider a purchase or donation to World Vision.

Win It: Help get the word out about World Vision as Closer To Lucy and I team up to bring two winners each a special gift from World Vision - One winner will receive a Christmas Ornament Set and the second winner a Artisan Necklace. I would also like to make a request of you, not  a mandatory one just one to consider. Please take a moment to consider donating, purchasing, or simple sharing about World Vision and the cause this holiday season.

At their website, I learned that 97% of their employees live in and are from the countries they are servicing. Also, they offer a variety of ways to give; from a specific cause or to generally "where most needed" you can choose how your funds will be used.

I learned that so many people in our world need the basics of life. I am so amazed on how our society can waste so much and they have so little. It seems we should be able to recycle things for others. How 2 chickens or a goat can help them out so much is amazing. Rita Spratlen rjspratlen@gmail.com
