Holiday Guide To Gaming - Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure Review

Looking for a great game for the holidays that just may get you hook yet is suitable for some of the youngest players in your household? Check out Skylanders from ActiVision.
I have to start off saying this is one of the more unique games we have come across in awhile not so much in game play but in " bonus features". Skylander has sent my boys over the edge, they are absolutely addicted!!

In Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, you can ‘Bring Your Toys to Life’ in a boldly innovative adventure game where players collect real-world interaction figures and teleport them directly into the game using a mystical Portal of Power™.

Propelled by a story-driven adventure, penned by Academy Award-nominated Toy Story feature film writers, Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow, players take on the role of a powerful Portal Master who can control over 30 different characters, including the beloved fire-breathing dragon Spyro.  Players will embark on a fantastical journey into an amazing world, where they will explore mysterious, mythical lands, battle menacing outlandish creatures, collect gold and treasures, and solve interesting puzzles while on a quest to save their world from Kaos, an evil Portal Master.

Game play is available in single player and co-op mode. However mid-way through the game when the difficulty seems to shoot up co-op is really your best bet. Throughout the game you will find yourself on a journey from level to level in order to save the world from an evil sorcerer. Traveling through castles, forest, ships etc defeating multiple enemies along the way.

On to the incredible part - The Portal Of Power! What is a a portal of power? Only the coolest feature. You start the game with three standard characters ( You can beat the game with just these character) but you also have the option of purchasing additional character figurines from your local retailer. When you purchase these figurines you can place them on the portal of power and transport them into your game! Each figure transports and stores data, upgrade moves and of course weapons. What makes this feature even better is, if we bring our figured to a friend or relatives house all their info comes with us. Also realize these figures can be traded across multiple platforms.

Buy It: This game is a bit on pricier retailing for the SRP of $69.99 but includes game, power portal and 3 character figures. Additional figures are sold for about $9.99 for a single pack to $24.99 for 3 packs. Available for Wii, PS3, Xbox and DS Rated E10+

I received above mentioned product(s) for free through the above mentioned company or representing PR agency, for review purpose. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
