Holiday Guide - Gigaset C595 Duo Phones (Review & Giveaway)

In this age of wireless technology I still rely heavily on the original wireless - the cordless  phone of course. One thing I don't expect from my "landline" is static interference. There is a reason I prefer my home phone to my cell phone when I am home; clarity, no dropped calls and no annoying cutting in and out. However, my phone was on it's last leg between a bad connection from our phone company and the age of our cordless set I was getting those same features I hate in a cell phone, on my home phone. It was defiantly time for an upgrade!


Gigaset manufactures reliable phones to meet and exceed your needs. Embarrassingly enough it has been so long since a purchased a home phone I was unaware of some neat features now available. Gigaset provided me with the C595 Duo Family Manager.

The Gigaset C595 Duo Family Manager is just perfect for our home. This phone comes equipped with dual handsets for convenience in multiple rooms, or of course for when we misplace one. With four kids it's bound to happen. To be honest I have been missing one of the handsets for a week now! The C595 also comes standard with a answering machine featuring up to 45 minutes record time, a baby alarm, individual ringtone programming,  LED display and my favorite anonymous call silencing.


Unlike my previous answering machine you can skip through message to easily replay a specific message without having to go through them one by one. I am famous for not hearing the phone ring and am pretty bad at checking the machine for missed calls. The C595 Duo has an binking message indicator right on the handset. With a press of a button you can access your machine from any room in the house. Of course you still have to make the time to actually check your messages (unlike me).

The bright LED screen even has customizable wall paper for one screen, while the main screen displays caller info, the date, time, number of missed calls and number of messages on your machine. The LED screen isn't all that is customizable though. You can purchase Skins for these phones to match any ones style or personality. We ordered a NY Giants and a NY Yankees Skin-It set.

Of course, if your looking for simple, the standard black or white that this set comes in also looks great. I think the number one thing I was impressed with was the clarity. Almost everyone I spoke on the phone to after hooking up my Gigaset phone all mentioned how much clearer I sounded and I was asking them to repeat themselves every three seconds.
